He is a better player than Clurey at the moment by a long way. I wonder if people have actually seen Clurey playing at the Magpies or they just want to give him games. He is a 2nd year player and still very raw. He can play AFL but he has a long way to develop yet.

Where are they plucking this extra mobile tall from? We are already 1:1 in height Vs their selections. They dont and wont have extra talls to play with except for the couple mins we send Westy into the ruck, and even then at the exact same time they will be down a tall up forward as well as they will have to use their 2nd tall forward in ruck as well. They have exactly the same 2 tall fwd, 1 ruck, 2 tall back structure for this game that we do, how are we vulnerable to anything other than our own gameplan which might benefit from a 3rd tall fwd. The issue certainly wont come from their height.

So you think a former Sandover medallist with a couple years AFL development and what 20 odd games is a worse player than a young developing key defender that would only just get a game in most SANFL sides as a key defender.

Dont let your positivity toward our developing players blind you of the potential V the reality. Clurey could be the next Carlile but better, but he isnt close to that point yet. Hell Carlile spent 2 years in the SANFL before getting his chance as well and he also demonstrated he wasnt ready at that time.

Yes I do think that.

Just because someone has played more games doesn't make them better. And plenty of non-AFL standard players win local league medals.

We just disagree mate, not intending to be rude.

Lulz. Lose two talls, replace them with one tweener and two short mids. Playing Kane Mitchell who hasn't had a good game in over a month and bringing back Dom Cassisi's old arse apparently both considered more important to the side than picking at least one and preferably two of Clurey, Butcher or Shaw. I wonder what the Sportsbet odds are of Essendon getting an upset win.

Next week: Out - Schulz, Hombsch, Lobbe, In - Neade, Hitchcock, S. Gray. Let's really get that running game going!

tribey El_Scorcho I was using the search function to try to find something else when this thread about that Essendon game popped up.

People on this board were predicting what Hinkley's failure to stick to structure would do to us without needing the benefit of hindsight literally five and a half years ago. How in god's name is a man who can't figure it out even with that five and a half year benefit of hindsight still being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to coach us? It beggars belief.

Come on. "Losses are part of the journey," mate...
