Detest? Cowardice? Moronicism? These are disgraceful terms. Do you call yourself a supporter or are you just a fool?
Mitchell is not our best player, but he tried hard and is coming along reasonably well for a guy with less than 20 games. Direct your anger at the experienced players who let us down badly today - Hartlett, Wingard, Ebert etc.
Being 'smart' has placed us second so far and meant we've only dropped 3 games. He has done this game plan time and time again because its been working. This is his second year coaching for shits sake - I want a premiership but throwing insults at Hinkley is ******* ludicrous.
There was some mistakes made when it came to doing the match ups and unfortunately we came out with a loss. Hinkley so far has proven that he's more than capable of learning from his mistakes, some were made this game

LMAO all you want, but DO NOT compare Mitchell to Lonie. Mitchell has flaws; his disposal is below par and he may not make it as an AFL footballer, but apart from a poor decision against Sydney 3 weeks ago (who hasn't made a poor decision occasionally?) he does not shirk contests. On his performance today, he does not deserve to be dropped for next week.Lmao
"Tried his ass off"
Welcome to 2011.
Oh I agree it wasn't his fault. I agree hartlett and westhoff have been carried for too long, and others went missing. Lonie got shit like no other player ever to play for port. And Mitchell took the weak option, then turned his back on the kick in vs Sydney, which DID cost us.
Today he had fresh legs vs bigger opponents in a foot race in the wet, and couldn't beat the crow spuds. Tell me what another 40 games will show that we cant see, and all saw 3 weeks ago. But kens got some trick he's now stubborn on, and it IS costing us.
20 games exactly. I'm haunted by the game time we gave oshea and Jacobs while young and Newton and Moore weren't/ aren't getting game time ahead of Mitchell and gray now, like Hitchcock and other plodders then.
Here were are not even knowing what to do with oshea. Sure not kens fault but newton Moore and young are in the same way
If we let what happened today (and before the game with horrendous selection) we won't finish top 4 and can kiss a flag goodbye.
We had Mitchell, gray and impey was a massive eff up. Massive. Gray has not earned the right to keep playing after he got a feel for it, and Mitchell lost his right when he was too scared to do what is a non negotiable for a player in any sports team.
Sure, others did worse, but he had fresh legs, and still couldn't beat the other players. One dimensional. Like Phillips a few years ago. Stick in magoos for a year see if he can show something with the ball at afl level when he gets an injury gig next season, otherwise. Trade/ delist
Mason Shaw exists, right? With Injuries: Out - Carlile, Trengrove, S. Gray, Mitchell
In - Clurey/O'Shea, Young, Cassisi, Logan
We could play talls forwards, but honestly I think our defence needs a wake up call from last week. If Bobby and Trengrove are injured, its gg no re next week, but I still think we can really batter Essendon around the midfield grunt with the likes of Young, Cassisi and Logan. Westhoff may have to take a job in defence and then me might have to play Butcher, debut Harvey (although I disagree with that) or buy another tall forward.
Without Injuries: Out - S. Gray, Mitchell
In - Young, Cassisi
Top two players who should've never been taken out of the lineup, that is all.
In all honesty, our whole team play poorly, and it is only natural that football teams drop a game every once in a while: Geelong lost by over 100 to Sydney, Crows losing to Melbourne: all teams go through tough and unexpected losses like this but that is what drives them for success.
We don't need to completely reshape our lineup, but once Redden is back in he can swap between forward and ruck with Lobbe and we may have a winning mix. Would like to see a new ruckman, tall forward or defender picked up during the trade period just so Carlile and Trengrove can take a load off. Thye have done so much for this club and are our 2 best players this year hands down.
Out: Trengove, Mitchell, Gray
In: Clurey, Young, Cassisi
I agree with most regarding 2 talls out and 3 in.
We must have 2 tall defenders and a tall forwars to cover Westhoff as he will need to ruck. Westhoff cannot be on the ground 100% gametime if he is going to ruck as well.
Big difference to most is that I would go Butcher before Shaw.
Might sound silly/weird/early morning drunk talk or whatever saying this, but we need someone that will allow our existing goalscorers to actually score more goals, more than we need another player that may or may not score a goal or two himself.
I haven't seen any SANFL games but Ken did say in an interview that Butch was ahead wrt being AFL ready and even in the reports on here, Butcher has played well but kicked somewhere between so so and shit, whereas Shaw has played so so but has a good kick.I didn't see any of the game at Unley, but Shaw's numbers utterly eclipsed Butcher's for roughly the third or fourth straight game.
Given he's not a stick insect I reckon he deserves the shot if we're that way inclined and I'm still not convinced we are, unfortunately.
