Looks like rain Thursday, Friday and Saturday... if the Bombers come across with too many talls we should smash them with run and spread... we just need to get on top in the guts and minimise the ball they get into their forwards.

Yep, Clurey in for Carlile, Westhoff permanently back to replace Trengove, and wait for it....BOTH Shaw and Butcher in at the same time! Woah!

So the team would structure like this:

B: Jonas, Hombsch, Clurey
HB: Broadbent, Westhoff, Pittard
C: Polec, Cornes, Ebert
HF: Gray, Butcher, Monfries
F: Shaw, Schulz, Wingard

R: Lobbe, Boak, Wines

I/C: White, Impey, Cassisi

SUB: Young
Westy down back is not a silly idea. Without Trengove, we are a bit short in the back lines, and will be a problem if he goes into ruck.

Bringing in Shaw and Butcher.... not so silly either.

If we do that, then I would not bring in Clurey and keep Mitchell.

Yep, Adelaide got 6 of 14 goals from their talls. 3 of those from Jacobs who smashed Lobbe. The key thing is going to be having more hard bodies for the contested ball. We'll still run and spread, but late June through mid-August is the ugly footy mini-season within the season. I can't see Ken and co. picking a fine April's day side again for the expected conditions.

Ken will be giving Mason very strong consideration. Without Trengove it means Westy will have to give Lobbes his chop out which leaves us with one KPF. There's a case for 3 KPF when one will be in the ruck from time to time.
Shaw is the only real option if Ken goes this way imo.

IN: Shaw, Clurey, Young, Newton
OUT: Trengove, Carlile, S. Gray, Mitchell

Teams rarely have more than 3-4 changes at the most, and it's not as if we were smashed last week. I'm expecting no more than 4 changes. Carlile and Trengove are the obvious outs. Tom Clurey will seemingly take one of those spots, the other is still a toss up. Ultimately, I think O'Shea will get the nod. Jonas can play on the bigger bodies in the event that O'Shea gets named.

We really missed some grunt this past game. Cassisi or Logan must be named. Knowing Ken's preferences, Cassisi will get the nod this week. Who do you take out? I'd take out Sam Gray. Nice player, but he isn't setting the world on fire. Go back to the SANFL to progress his development. I thought that having Gray in last week was going to mean Wingard would play more midfield, but he stayed forward and did next to nothing.

Does Aaron Young deserve a spot in the 22? Debatable. Based on his stat line in the SANFL this past week you'd think he's a shoe in. His disposal however, was extremely poor. He reads the play really well, but his kicking skills leave so much to be desired. Mitchell didn't do anything wrong imo as the sub this past week. Had the 11 touches, added some speed on the wings and opened some space up. I'd keep him as the sub for this week.

Last is a potential third tall in the forward line. Could easily name one this week, considering that Westhoff will have to play more ruck. Shaw has clearly crossed Butcher for the "next man up" in the pecking order. Butcher is so down on confidence right now in the SANFL, he just doesn't look like an AFL player at all. Shaw has had some good form the past month, and I've heard that he was close to getting named a few weeks ago. If he comes into the side, a runner must be taken out though. In this case if anyone is going to come out, it will be one of Impey or Mitchell, most likely the latter.

My outs for the week: Trengove, Carlile, Sam Gray, Mitchell
My ins for the week: Clurey, O'Shea, Cassisi, Shaw

If we go with this lineup, I'd have no idea who would be the sub. My guess would be White (Impey will be asked to cover one of Chapman or Colyer for the entire game).

Preferably Cassisi but if he isn't fit, Young. I've decided to put Westhoff down back and not bring in Clurey, mainly because I really want Butcher to have another crack and it will be interesting to see Westhoff play on someone in defense rather than being the loose man.

Clurey will be in, not necessarily a straight swap for Carlile but as part of the defensive re-jig. Young will be back and possibly will play Trengove's role. If so very neat. Everything else is chaos theory stuff.

Stupid question... not a chance for a sellout I'd hope (sorta), got 2 Platinum memberships in 135, but want to buy 2 extra GA tickets at the gate to bring 3 cousins all up, but use the Entertainment Book voucher (buy 1 get 1 free), which can only be redeemed at the Gate apparently....

Anyone ever used that voucher this year?

$50 a ticket for Platinum near me... F that.... probably not even remotely close to my area either.

Was hoping to bring 2 guys that have never been to AFL, the other went with me to the Hawthorn game for his first AFL game. Trying my best to recruit new fans :)

I want

Out: Carlile (inj) Trengove (inj) Mitchell (omit) S.Gray (omit)

In: O'Shea, Clurey, Young, Cassisi

What Kern will do

Out: Carlile (inj) Trengove (inj)

In: O'Shea, Clurey
Why Mitchell out? He worked his arse off last week, unlike a number of his team-mates. And why O'Shea in? Hardly setting the world on fire in the SANFL.

Huh?

That's why I said I want him dropped but Kern wont drop him because of his work rate. I love his attack and pressure but is just too messy.

Loved O'Shea last year and with 2 experienced defenders down, I feel he would be an appropriate inclusion.
