Changes vs Essendon

O'Shea for Amon is possible, But I'd give O'Shea another week.

OShea had a stinker but I would be keen to keep him in

I dare say out last part of the season should be about developing depth for next season

And if he is going to move on at the end of the year, then at the very least give him a chance to bump up his trade value.
Not that I think we should move him on, but it wouldn't be surprising to see a couple of our fringe players looking for greener pastures and O'Shea could be one of those.

For those that like Hawthorn comparisons think of the sort of draft picks we would have got for the players they have traded out.

Ahch should play the rest of the season

Really? Arch just put himself back in the marble bag along with Amon, O'Shea, Moore, Young, Mitchell, Neade and Colquhoun.

May as well just put all their names in a hat and draw 3-4 on any given week.

We should be looking to debut Harvey, Palmer or DBJ.

do you write off Arch after 1 bad game though he'd been pretty impressive until yesterday, his 7th game wasn't it lol

i think it was worthy of highlighting that Lobbe took 3 marks yesterday...

i say this with tongue firmly in cheek!

It's not about writing off Arch - my point is that he is no longer the standout of our fringe players.

I'd persevere with him especially now with the season in the fertilizer

In fact I'd play Arch, Young and Moore for the rest of the season & tell the latter two it's playing for your career time.

O'Shea has been in the system for a while and has not yet established himself as an AFL regular, Young and Moore also fit into this category. I wouldn't want to throw the baby out with the bath water but I suspect all 3 will be on the trade table at the end of the year.

I doubt there will be wholesale changes this week apart from Bobby and Jasper coming back in, Matty White can't be too far away either although will probably come back via the SANFL.

Apart from Amon and Ah Chee, we haven't really blooded any kids this year which is strange and concerning given our season is over at Round 16. I'd like to give Palmer a go before the end of the season.

I agree. I am happy if any three of Amon, Harvey, Ah Chee, Palmer, Colquhoun get a game each week. We have to get a few more games under their belts.

As I see it Stewart = Moore as each have played 50+ games and are only fringe players. Along with these two I think O'Shea, Butcher and Young will be trade bait at the end of the season so the argument for including them is probably based on bumping up their trade value as much as anything. Selecting these guys is like shuffling deckchairs.

Who goes in this week and who comes out is anyone's guess and a lot will depend on how Ken views the rest of the season.

Spot on.

Lobbe survives only because he'll be up against McKernan.

Amon for O'Shea would be the only change

Out: Stewart, neade, o'shea
In: Pittard, Palmer, hoon

If Pittard isn't fit, then Amon to come in. Ah Chee looked overrawed but I'd give him another go. We need to see if he's a part of our future or at least drive up his value to get something in a trade. Young was good when he came on as sub so I think he stays in.

If Ahchee goes, then Moore is logical replacement. Please for the love of God no Mitchell or s.Gray.

You'd have to say finals are over for 2015.

OUT: Lobbe - Hartlett - Trengove - Schulz - Ebert
IN: Harvey - Frampton - Palmer - Butcher - Moore

On 2nd thoughts... i don't give a stuff who comes in and who goes out. What about the shark attack on Mick Fanning in the surfing last night in the J-Bay Pro final. I saw it live too. Go buy a lottery ticket Mick.

Clurey and AhChee must stay. AhChee to again be in starting line-up.

Dump the Hoff - with his 'couldn't give a rats' attitude, real or perceived, he has become almost a liability. Needs to get a swift message.

My view is with the season over, reward SANFL form and find fringe players who will take their chance. Very disappointed with Ah Chee, Neade and Stewart on Sunday. Lobbe showed a heartbeat of form for the first time in a long time but I still think that he would benefit from a run in the SANFL where we are instructed to go to him wherever possible for contested marks. So for me-

Out- Lobbe, Neade, Ah Chee, Stewart

In- Redden, Palmer, Moore, Pittard (or Colquhoun)

If White is fit, he comes in as the sub instead of Palmer. Young gets a full game either way.

Nobody gets gifted a game but I'm happy to keep rotating Mitchell, Amon, Moore, Young, AhChee, Colquhoun, Neade, S.Gray, Palmer, Stewart and whoever else plays well in the SANFL until one of them actually takes their opportunity. That's what we need most. Our fringe players to improve their output.

Given finals are now out of the question the focus should be entirely upon development. Stewart is the obvious first out but there may be others and if there are any surgeries, etc, that need to be done post season I'd be looking at bringing them forward. Colquhoun, Amon and Harvey are three who should be given ample opportunities over the next 7 weeks.

Plenty of people have said in these changes threads that we're not gaining anything by dropping our bottom 6 fringe player types and that we're in the position we're in because of our senior players underperforming. You can't say that about yesterday's game.

Lobbe and Westhoff were the only senior players you could accuse of underperforming, and Boak, Wingard, Gray, Hartlett, Ryder, Schulz, Broadbent, Monfries, and Ebert (apart from a few disposal errors) all had good games. But out of our fringe players, Clurey and Young were decent but not much else, and O'Shea, Stewart, Ah Chee and Neade gave us absolutely nothing. Worse than nothing in O'Shea's case. He was able to cover the 2 goals Pittard usually gives away due to schoolboy errors, but didn't manage to cover any of Pittard's attacking flair.

On the flipside, Brodie ****ing Martin of all people was one of the best for the Crows, and the likes of Matt Crouch, Charlie Cameron and even Riley Knight had an impact on the game. Even as I type this sentence it sounds ridiculous, but if one of our fringe players had put in a performance yesterday like Brodie Martin did, we probably win that game.
