Why can't Scully come back in this week?

He can, and I reckon will.

B. Frawley Warnock Nicholson
HB. MacDonald Rivers Morton
C. Jones Moloney Scully
HF. Sylvia Watts Green
F. Maric Jurrah Petterd
R. Martin McKenzie Trengove
IC. Gawn Jetta Gysberts Evans

IN. Gawn Trengove Scully
OUT. Bate Newton Bennell

Why can't Scully come back in this week?

He can & would play well for us but another week in the seconds wont kill us but it might harm his progress.

Against the Don's we either win or lose, he wont be the deciding factor yet.

I have been asking myself this question,

How will scully be best placed to impact on QB?

Playing a full game in Casey or with the Dees, it would be the Dees... he plays for Casey and then faces the step up, or plays AFL this week and will have a big hit out prior to QB

Bennell was good on Friday from my point of view, he took the game on, had clean skills and was fairly accountable to Garlett.

He wasn't even soft, although him and Juice ****ed up a marking contest late in the game, that is exactly the kind of thing we need from Bennell... eyes on the ball, playing the ball, jumping back with the flight.

Bennell is simply turning into a scapegoat for some people.

Good call. Give him an extended run in the Seniors to get his confidence, because that's what he is - a confidence player.
With the likes of Grimes, Garland, Davey and Tapscott missing we need someone to take the ball off Warnock (shudder) and deliver upfield. Bennell can be that player. He certainly showed flashes of that clean run and delivery on Friday - give him a few weeks and see if he can produce it consistently.

Changes:

Out: Newton, Bate, Morton, (Petterd, Evans, Jetta)
In: Gawn, Trengove, Strauss, (Howe, Scully, Blease)

Max Gawn is just about a must this week. He had a damned good showing against an AFL grade ruckman in Hudson on the weekend (mind you Hudson is out of form), but he has surely done enough to earn a chance.

Combine that with the fact that Newton is categorically ******ed at AFL level surely Gawn would give us more in the ruck and up forward.

Is it just me or are Jetta and Bennell mentioned in this thread every single week? If they're in they should be out and if they're out they should be in. Can't we give them a decent run in the team?

yeah your right, bate and newton are the same, look at chip , it takes 3-4 weeks at afl level for most players to find there touch... bennel and jetta will never find touch if they are in and out of the side, give them a month.. and if there still not ready, then drop them... especially newton and bate.. lead up forwards take weeks to get touch at afl level, im not saying either of them are necesarrily afl level players, but they need a month to be given a shot,

OUT

Warnock - TOO MANY SKILL ERRORS COSTING GOALS
BATE - CANT RUN CANT JUMP
Morton - Nothing to Say!
Petterd - Not doing enough!
Newton - GIVE GAWN A CRACK
Evans - Unlucky

IN

Trengrove
Scully
Howe

For those who are interested big Gawn was reported to have 17 disposals, 10 marks as well as dominating the Ruck against Hudson on the weekend.

A call up is iminent you would think.

Juice = out

Watts = to the forwardline

Me = happy

Just a few things to note:
Matthew Bate: Matthew worked really hard and ran to some really good spots, but wasn’t used enough...
Liam Jurrah: Liam’s not working hard enough or involving himself in the game at the moment...
Addam Maric: Addam was in and out of the game. The defensive side of his game requires more focus. He needs to continue to take the game on when he has the ball.
Stefan Martin: ...His spread is was good and we need to use Stef more around the ground.
Cale Morton: ... A game to build on.
Michael Newton: Juice didn’t make the most of his opportunities and made a few basic errors that Carlton capitalised on.
Matthew Warnock: ... We know he’ll bounce back next week.

Sounds from that as if Bate, Morton and Warnock aren't on the "to drop" list; Newton, Jurrah and Maric are; and Martin will be used as a back-up around the ground making room for GAAAAAAAWWWWWWNNNN!

Bartram is available!!! WHOOO!!!

In: Bartram, Scully, Trengove, Gawn
Out: Wonna, Newton, ???, ???

Wonna was playing VFL, so he can't be dropped

Nicholson for Bartam is an obvious like for like, but I'd prefer to see Warnock dropped considering our already too tall backline. (Rivers, Frawley, Macdonald)

LOL forgot... he got dropped last week :)
