Juice out, surely that spells in for Howe?

AND A RETURN TO THE ****ING F50 FOR THE WATTS!

Nah... Juice should be replaced by Gawn. Howe will take either Bate or Petterd's spot if he gets a game.

But YES TO THE SECOND PART

Very good news about Bartram being right. I just got a sneaky $50 on the dee's tonight at 4-1, feel like loading up more now I know that Bartram is playing...

Ins: Bartram, Gawn, Trengove, Scully
Out: Bate, Newton, Evans, Green (I wish), Maric

B. Bartram Warnock Frawley
HB. MacDonald Rivers Nicholson
C. Jones Moloney Morton
HF. Sylvia Watts Bennell
F. Green Jurrah Scully
R. Martin McKenzie Trengove
IC. Gawn, Gysberts, Jetta, Petterd (sub)

Looks like a team that could beat Essendon IMO, especially with no Watson or Hurley.

I still think Strauss could get a gig, has played some strong VFL footy this year, in between an injury, and has fantastic footskills... even delivering inside 50 as a rebounding defender.

Warnock will find a way to lose it for us.

Have most people forgotten about Lynden Dunn coming back from suspension?

In: Gawn, Scully, Trengove, Dunn, Bartram, T MacDonald.
Out: Newton, Maric, Bate, Evans, Nicholson, Bennell.

Shocked were not longer odds. Actually might take Melb over 15.5 pts - $7.50 & then us at the line which will probably be about 35 pts.

But if we were ever going to beat them it's this week. They lost to Richmond in a block-buster Sheeds invented for them, have had the bye which most side struggle out of & we've got a rev from the soft comments.

I think most people are hoping he wont walk back into the side after A) disadvantaging the team already smashed by injuries by getting suspended & B) very average form in the 2 games prior to suspension.

But from DBs comments in the media I'd say he's a very good chance to come straight in. Seems like he's turned a corner from coach's whipping boy to has to commit murder to get dropped.

T Macdonald could only come in for Warnock. Bate wasn't that bad, he worked the hardest of all our forwards friday night. Petterd deserves to be dropped before Bate. Bennell did a solid job on Garlett.

Gawn and Trengove are certanitities, Scully and Bartram likewise if they are passed fit. Scully most likely to be the sub or subbed off. One of Dunn or Howe to play.

The outs are tough to do, most are playing that bad it's hard to justify one over the other. Evans and Nicholson haven't done much wrong but for team balance may make way for Trengove and Scully, Newton out injured. Petterd needs to lift his defensive efforts and work rate. We need more consistent efforts from Jetta, Maric and Bennell.

I think a lot on who comes in for Essendon. Hurley comes in then we will have to go taller, the only way Dunn gets into the side is if Watson plays cos he's done well on him before.

Bartram v Zaharakis
Rivers v Hille
Frawley v Monfries
MacDonald v Crameri
McDonald v Hurley\Ryder
Bennell v Riemers

C: Jones, Dunn, Scully
HF: Green, Watts, Sylvia
F: Jurrah, Howe, Maric
FOLL: Martin, Moloney, Trengove
IC: McKenzie, Gawn, Gysberts
SUB: Petterd
EMERG: Evans, Nicholson, Jetta

Warnock, Bate and Morton have had far too many chances.

Last chances for Bennell, Maric, Dunn and Petterd.

Petterd has been the only one to give us something as a sub so far so I think we should give him a crack at being a sub again.

Evans and Nicholson are unlucky basically making way for Trengove and Scully while Jetta is too slow for the small forward role. I'd do anything for a decent small forward. Useless experts rating a dud like Morton ahead of Rioli what a blunder!

Nicholson should play, offers far more intensity than Bennell who'll be slaughtered by their forward press on recent form.

Evans pending Scully.

Would be harsh to give Nicholson a 1/4 of footy & then drop him. His attack was impressive in that short stint & he racked up similarly impressive stats.

He won't be dropped, I don't think the coaching staff would bring him in as a sub knowing the ins we have next week & then drop him, that's not beneficial to a player experience or mental state.

Bennell should be playing in the forward line IMO, we are bereft of crumbers.

A forward line can't function properly (on a regular basis) with out a couple of crumbing players.

I disagree with that last part. If it was made very clear he was getting a bit of AFL exposure before he played it would not harm his mental state one bit... and experiencing the pace of an AFL game would be a beneficial experience for him anyway.

In

Trengove, Dunn, Scully, Bartram, Gawn

OUT

Evans, Bate, Nicholson, Jetta, Newton

Trengove and Bartram are automatic inclusions. Scully should come in if the knee has pulled up ok. Wouldn't be surprised to see him used as a sub to ease him back. Not saying it's what we should do, but I wouldn't be surprised. Gawn replaces Newton to grab his debut and Dunn replaces Bate and gives us a bit more mongrel up forward.

Evans and Nicholson are unlucky, but are more than liklely going to get more games towards the end of the season. Bate just hasn't done enough to warrant a position in the starting 22. Newton is injured and Jetta just isn't up to AFL standard IMO.

Petterd, Maric, Jurrah, Warnock are on notice. Moloney, Green and Gysberts need to lift. Howe, Strauss and Blease knocking on the door if certain players don't demand a spot in the 22. Will be a very interesting match to see how we respond to the 'soft' tag placed upon us during the week! I think we'll put up a better show than what we did against Carlton, but I still feel Essendon will have our measure. Bombers by 28 points...

I don't care who's in or out but looking for a performance that has some mongrel factor in it. If EVER the club and players need to stand up after a barrage of abuse its this week.

They lay down then its bloodsport.

IMO we should persist with Warnock - I think he lacks confidence in himself and that's what lets him down in matches. He won't grow as a playerand gain confidence unless the club and the supporters back him.

I hope Scully plays this week. So good to see him back and his in and under work and quick hands and great decision making will be invalueable this week.

Warnock is a brute better suited to local footy at CHB.

My mail is that Howe is definitely debuting tomorrow- details coming.

EDIT - and Gawn but that's not much of a surprise.

Good news!

Do you have mail on any other changes? or just debutantes?

Only heard bout those two at this point, I think that means no other definite debutants this week but not sure.

Hopefully Max dominates and Howe takes some huge hangers! (followed by converting his goals :p)

Fingers crossed :thumbsu:

Unfortunately that probably means Strauss won't get a gig, I can't see them making 5 changes... It's a shame because we NEED some good footskills and decision making out of our back half.

Unless Scully is given an extra week to recover...

I presume we'll be wearing the white guernsey tomorrow. Don't like it. I note they've got a deal on the club webshop, both guernseys for $200, I'm guessing the white one isn't selling so well.
But a win in it might make it look a little better.

I asked for a Dees Guernsey for my last birthday, my mum bought me the away one.

:mad::mad:

It isn't actually that bad, but still.
