Very disappointing if true!!

Second that although at least he played a few games and showed that he has some talent. Will be one for the future, get him right for next season.

Not sure of the changes this week. Green and Frawley could both miss which means we might see the return of a Sylvia, Petterd and possibly a Davis if Chip doesn't get up.

Would love to see Martin return but he may still not be ready to go. Might see him, and possibly Strauss, after the break. Other than that we don't need huge changes.

J mac played very well against the dons last year IIRC

Lets give him a gold star, never drop him, sign him up for another 5 years.

Misson mentioned it towards the end of his weekly injury video. Something to do with his back.

Yeah from what Misson said it sounds like a fracture in the same part of his back but on the opposite side to the one from earlier in the year. also mentioned they will be cautious with SME and Strauss returning, which is fair, there is no need to rush them into the side st this stage, as much as I'd like to see them.

on the plus side Frawley should be ok after a couple of days in the moon boot.

From memory Sylvia got a cork in the first ten minutes and was subbed. Our young players got us over the line last time with Mckenzie, Gysberts, Trengove, Scully and Watts having ripping games.

We put in 3 decent quarters against the Blues.

We must of watched different games i saw us play a very good first quarter. 2nd and 3rd quarters were terrible, no run and no carry didnt look like scoring (we only kicked 3 goals after 1/4 time and one of those was a free kick to jones). The majoirty of posseson was in Carlton's forward half we were only in the game becuase they couldn't convert. Despire being within 20 points for most of the 2nd and 3rd quarters i never gave us a chance becuase we didnt look like kicking any goals or moving the ball forward with any structure. The last quarter was pathetic.

I'm sorry but garland is no longer a second year player people can't just forget the many things he does wrong on a weekly bases. Got destroyed by betts and Lewis jetta in the last 2 weeks. Time to have a stint in the 2's if you ask me
The whole team was in line to be dropped after the Sydney game, and Jetta had several opponents throughout the night; from what I remember he was getting a fair bit of the ball through the midfield/wing, not playing the small forward role that much. Betts was pretty well held until the last, when the team fell over he got 3 goals, and much more ball which flattered him I think.

While I agree he has made a few mistakes, some quite costly, the whole team was woeful against the Swans, which is why he would've looked bad then; and we were not quite as woeful, but still very ordinary, in the last quarter against the Blues, which was when Betts got off the chain. Our defense has been under a lot of pressure the whole season, due to poor performances by the midfield/forwards, hence they are going to look bad/make errors due to sheer weight of numbers

Thoughts.....Bring Davey back in and play him on his brother nothing like a bit brotherly competiton to get him going again. Giddy Up

Anyone else get the feeling there's more to Martin not playing other than he just has some 'injury'?

pure speculation on my behalf, but I just have that feeling of something NQR.

You raise some valid points, but i still think he needs to be dropped, i think he is too complacent with his spot in the team, seems to lack passion for the game.

I'd chuck him forward not the twos.

IMO, problem is he gets matched up on small forwards like Betts and Jetta but still defends them as if they were tall forwards. The clever ones play the one-on-ones very differently to the talls, and on a couple of occasions Garland has been caught flying under the ball or something like that. He needs to maintain more body contact with them - the little blokes don't like that.
