Changes vs Essendon

If Mullett is dropped again it will be disappointing.

Don't care who goes out for Adams (maybe Campbell, Wright or Macmillan - all poor yesterday, especially Macmillan), but Mullett deserves a full game and is a promising player.

I'd like Pederson in for Hansen, but we know Scott has his favourites so that won't happen.

If Pedo can't get a kick against Claremont, how in the hell is he going to get a kick against Essendon, Collingwood and Freo. It's not a favourites thing, Hansen is a better forward, better defender and surprisingly a more competent ruckmen too.

That said if Hansen's shoulder in still injured, then your boy might just get a run.

Not sure that Hansen is a favourite of Scott, he kept him out of the team longer than expected earlier this year.
Scott made it pretty clear in his presser yesterday that he was happy with how the 3 talls were walking together as a unit so I don't see that being tinkered with unless they have a significant drop in form or get injured.

IN: Adams
OUT: MacMillan

JMac is getting a free pass for too long. I know he's seen as a future leader but needs to start earning his spot on merit. He was poor today.

And please, if Flash isn't the sub, don't play him at all.
I also think this will happen, seems the obvious choice

That's pretty much my point RodS. Even if they play poorly individually Scott will rely on that as justification. Hansen has been woeful for three weeks, and a few others have noticably dropped form.

As long as we win it will go ignored and that's fair enough. Lets see if the same positive 'back-slapping' mantra happens if they serve that up against a half-decent team and we get hammered.

I read that he played well?! If he didn't perform on Thursday as you say, then fair enough to keep Hansen in for another week at least.

Pederson's hands and skills are better than Lachie's, but doesn't present as well admittedly and plays a different role.

No where near playing well.

This bolded point I can't agree with. Hansen is better than Pedersen. He is a top 3 pick for a reason and not a rookie. The only knock people have on him is that he looks laconic. But if we talk skills, marking and endurance, I would take Hansen every day of the week. Hansen is one of our best marks at the club.

Mullet didn't do his chances any harm.

J-Mac would want to keep on his toes.

He's certainly not when Jack and LT also return. I thought he was very impressive off half back. Would be yet again very harshly dropped if it happens. And it could, the coach seems to prefer McMillan.

Mullett's kicking was woeful going forward on a couple of occasions. Had all the time in the world and managed to shank two right in front of me on the wing.

He used to be I agree giantroo. Hasn't shown it this year - can only get better though (I am not a fan), putting on a positive spin.

No worries about Pederson playing poorly though, I just read he was good but obviously not the case. Hansen stays in, thanks for the match report :thumbsu:

I'd be very surprised if Robbie was in danger. He kicked four just last week. If any of the talls go it would be Hansen.

The advantage that Lachie has over Robbie appears to be fitness/stamina (as he should btw)... I was watching them both fairly closely yesterday & they both ran a hell of a lot, but Lachie would recover a lot quicker.

I genuinely think that Lachie's 3rd qtr was one of the main reasons we got right on top. It appeared as if he got a rocket at half time.

He may have better endurance, but he just isn't as good.

I heard on AW yesterday that Stanton would be very unlikely to play next week, Doc larkins said he thought it would be a 3 week hammy for stanton.

Only saw soreness next to his name and thought he would be back, but if that is the case, even better.

Doc Larkins is guessing (surprise surprise). The whole footy world suspects Stanton has a low grade hammy tear but the Bombers have been adamant that he just got a knock.

Howlett just pinged a hammy.

I would entertain promoting Luke Delaney for this match.
