Wright wouldn't be a terrible matchup. He's pretty tall and good overhead, just doesn't have the pace to go with Crameri. If we're really in trouble, we have a couple of very capable CHB's in Hansen and Tarrant who could be moved.

I think Crameri needs to be treated as a third tall forward at absolute worst if he plays. Thompson would be my choice, unless they start Ryder or Pears deep forward. Firrito as a second resort.

Wouldn't mind Harvey playing as a high half forward on Dempsey as he did with Murphy.

Ryder - Grima
Hurley - Thompson
Gumby - Spud
Crameri - McMahon/Wright

That's assuming they all play which has to be doubtful. I wouldn't have an issue with giving Gumby a massive mismatch. If they're going to isolate one guy, I'd prefer it to be him than the other 3.

If Crameri gets Wright or McMahon you can bet they will clear out the 50 and push him to the square.

Given Grima's main strength is his closing speed and ability to get a late punch in, I'd play him on a leading player, and play Thompson on a body player.

McMahon is a tough unit to shift. Wright would never play that role. I'd be comfortable in them trying isolate McMahon.

They would play Crameri out of the square I mean. He is a difficult match up as he is very quick on the lead but also a very good overhead mark.

However, agree with Husk. Ryder and Crameri would both be underdone and Hurley would be back only a week. Force the ball to ground and our rebounding defenders could have a field day.

I can the Bombers sticking with us for 2 and a half quarters or so and then us kicking away.
Physically they are almost gone. So if we can wear them down mentally with some good footy, we should get the job done.
Stopping Watson, Stanton and their run from halfback and we win.

The fact is no one knows which Bombers will play. i have heard strong rumours that they will not get any of their injured players back this week, added to Howlett and Winderlich that did their hammies yesterday.

There is a massive cover up going on at Windy Hill.

Patch can come in and play as the forward pocket, the Thomas role, perhaps rotating with Boomer up the field. We missed LT a lot today IMO.
Mullet unlucky to go out, Flash back to being sub. Garlett did enough after half-time I reckon.
Going to be interesting when Jack and LT are back.

Patch cant do the LT role he has bad shoulders ?? We need forward pressure that is what we totally lacked Saturday I was happy with the talls but we saw how important LT is.(sorry LT Haters)

We had too many of the same type of players Saturday we need a nasty up forward but we dont have one other than Dish we were all nice blokes down forward this week but who would have that LT niggle and nasty and skill (once again sorry LT haters):)

We did miss LT, other than his antics he is a key for our defensive pressure in our forward 50. I think Adams would be a big boost, I wouldn't mind seeing us push Wright up forward from time to time, he has done some very good shut-down roles but I think he has the capability of being very damaging up forward.

I like sammy's first efforts and his ability to stop the easy possession of a good player but can't wait to be able to assess his second efforts

Very harsh. Sammy has had a great year, and rarely gets beaten 1:1. In fact it's a mute pointas he tends to win/kill the ball more often than not.

Is our only dual footed player also.

I would play him forward this week. He could play defensive forward on Dempsey and hit some targets inside F50.

Tarrant isn't that nice. Wait until he gets more confidence.

This is going to be massive. Sell out?
I'd reckon. Even with the shit timeslot.

The only issue is with reserved seating, it doesn't always completely fill up. It's good the club are buying back reserved seats, but still.

With the angst between the two teams, and the virtual elimination final status of it, it should be very well attended. Gonna be a loooong, bitter and cold train ride home for the loser though

nice :) I like over confidence, if only the team had the same attitude :)

I dunno about over confidence, just a bit of banter.

We need to be switched on.

I think that your injury list and the fact you played the late game in greasy conditions is going to be a factor.

At this stage of the season and his development, I think we'd be wise to use a three towers forward line of Petrie, Hansen and Pederson instead.

He gives up 1-2 inches on the other three, I don't think it's really the triple towers with Pederson in there.

Keep the triple towers as is I say, individually they may have down days, but the collective always seems to present a headache to opposition coaches.
