Anyone think that Terlich is a shoe in for a game next week?

Also, I feel sorry for the supporters of the MFC and don't want to sound like a naysayer but was Toumpas the right choice?

I always said that I thought Wines should have been your first draft pick. If I were a MFC supporter today, seeing Wines dominate would bring a tear to the eye. Early call I know but if we didn't already have 123124234234234 inside mids at the dogs, he would have been my first pick.
Toumpas is the most talented out of the three (him, Wines, Viney), but I do wonder whether I'd have been happier for GWS to take him, us to take Wines and you blokes or PA to land up with O'Rourke as was initially thought. He's too small to have an impact for a year or two at a team that isn't filled with accomplished bodies.

as far as rolled ankles go it was a pretty bad one, so we'll see how he pulls up, although he did come back on later on in the game.
It did seem bad and I don't think he lasted long when he came back on. Doubt that he'll be fit for next week. Didn't know Sylvia was reported. Was there anything in it?

IN: McDonald Trengove Terlich Kent Dawes
Out: Gillies Tapscott Toumpas Sellar Clark (inj)

Gillies Tapscott and Sellar were the worst of a bad lot and Toumpas didn't look ready for this level. I'd like to see Watts tried up forward if Clark misses with both Terlich and Nicholson giving some extra pace off half back. At least my "Ins" are players who haven't let us down in the past.

Neeld seemed like he would play in the presser. Apparently doc said "He's fine to play" but Neeld wanted to be safe, so he'd be right for next week.

Out: Tapscott, wow, what a woeful performance. Was never in the game, no good defensively at all and runs one way. Is like Colin Sylvia with a lot less talent. I wonder what he'd be like if he was drafted at another club, probably hitting his straps like Hartlett et al.

In: Terlich, the man was gutted when told he was going to miss out and will try his guts out. Needs to work on his defensive aspects but is more than willing to do so. Nicholson is holding him out, but he was serviceable whilst Tapscott was abominable.

Out: Sellar, appears he is a vfl superstar. Not fit for consumption at the highest level.

In: Dawes, the forward line is better not being filled by utilities and rotating miss like it was today. Stick pedo down there, leave Sylvia in the guts and I NEVER WANT TO SEE VINEY LINE UP AT A CENTRE BOUNCE IN THE FORWARD LINE AGAIN!!!

Out: Gillies, needs more time but we can't afford it, we need McDonald back.

In: McDonald, I miss him so.

Very lucky because we can't change them all: Garland, Watts.

How's Tom MacDonald going. Was he injured or is he just not in the plans at the moment. Thought he was pretty hard at it and organized last season.

He is a walk up start, but we're not sure if he can walk right now.

not here to cause a stir fellas but surely Jack Watts can't keep getting automatic selection, just because Melbourne are too proud to admit he was a bad no1 pick. Why not tell him to get some ball in Casey then come back to the 1s?

Because he's not the problem - and he's one of our better players despite his terrible performance on the weekend.

He's not the problem. You either haven't watched the match or you don't know much about footy. Yes, he was shite on the weekend, but have a look at my explanation for Watts on the weekend I think in the Neeld thread.

Aaron Davey anyone?
If we're looking for more players who won't give a ****, he's a shoe in!

Will probably get a gig out of sheer desperation.

Quick question - some saying Sylvia might be suspended, I didn't see any incident..was that a tongue in cheek comment?

Cheers

It's been done before. On several occasions. Comes back and plays okay to great... then same old same old. At a loss with what to do with him, but where he is playing right now is a total and utter waste.

Can't believe Pedersen isn't in the outs in most posts. He's first dropped for mine- due to having a stinker and more significantly, ducking his head in a marking contest.

Gillies gone, but I also wouldn't be against dropping Garland too. He was awful and has been lost for some time.

We need so much more run and midfield power, so Terlich and Magner have to come in. Kent a possibility.

Praying Dawes and McDonald are fit.

So,

OUT: Pedersen, Gillies, Tapscott, Garland,

IN: Dawes, McDonald, Magner, Terlich

Far out, imagine this board in there. Think we'd all be on the ground laughing at Biff's sledges.

Biff would coach us... and then sledge from the box.

Players I want given games:
Kent
Tynan
Taggert

At least they are young and have a lot of upside, unlike guys like Brynes, Gillies, Rodan etc who are simply not gonna improve and are probably just happy enough that they're still on an AFL payroll.
