I'm probably a bigger fan than most here, but even though he was average on the weekend, I really want Bailey Williams to stay in and head back to HBF to take over Duryea / Sucklings role as another running defender back there. Good size, speed, ball winning ability etc which will help us a lot if he finds some form.

Just please bring another couple talls in Bevo. No Dunkley in the ruck and no back up KPD / KPF :'(

Totally agree.

I think it’s harsh to judge him in the current situation too. He’s shown enough in the past to prove he’s worth persevering with.

I am bemused in todays game when fans predict easy wins. Port beats West Coast, Freo beat GWS, there are no certainties anymore, the comp is too even. Freo should be favourites but the Dogs are easily capable of pushing them to the limit. I reckon the Dogs will hit back and the $2.80 on offer is worth getting on.
i was thinking something along those lines. if duryea and suckling are fit, they will come in. i hope trengove comes in but bevo is just too stubborn. i am almost going to concede that i no longer trust in his abilities as a coach atm. i sincerely hope that i am wrong on this one, but doubt it. i want to be proven WRONG!!!

Think he has to stay in now with those outs.

I actually quite like 'continuency' as a neologism. Will start using.

Not too fussed about the ex-Hawks.
Suckling will probably head off to the states pursuing the NFL chimera at the end of the year, and Duryea was only ever a stopgap, you can't build around 28 year-olds.
Their presence or absence isn't as much a worry right now as whether Lewy Young, Lynch, Greene, Schache, etc develop

Wood Roberts Cordy
JJ Trengove Crozier
Smith Dunkley Macrae
Mclean Naughton Hunter
Dickson Schache Lloyd
English Bont Macrae

Daniel Gowers Williams Lipinski

In: Trengove, Roberts, Lipinski, Schache
Out: Hayes, Young, Richards, Wallis

Need to be going tall in defence coming up against Freo's forward line. Roberts seems unlikely to actually happen but would happily take Lewis Young in his place. Naughton needs to be rotating back and forward as necessary as well (like when Trengove rucks). I know it's not ideal to be moving around a developing player but he seems to have a mature head and being in our top handful of players he has to be able to do what the team requires.

Wallis maybe a bit stiff to be dropped before Hunter and Dunkley but I think with Dunkley played in the right role he's the far superior player, and I want to see if Hunter can make some progress as a forward because it's becoming clear to me that he doesn't offer enough as an outside mid. Could also look at keeping Wallis in as a forward and dropping Gowers.

Our number one priority has to be developing functioning forward and backline structures because it's obvious our current ones aren't working. This might mean playing some players who aren't 100% up to it, but the development it will result in for the rest of the team will be huge.

I like your team but is there something you’re not telling us when Libba can’t get a game ? 😉.
You’ve picked Macrae twice. We get what you meant.

Are we willing to make a statement at the selection table? Hayes turns the ball over a lot but was far from our worst. Lachie Young gets another crack.

Here's one though - a player who genuinely isn't 'versatile', only plays one spot and is horribly out of form with a number of players who can play in his position. His first name is Easton.

Bevo will never drop the captain.
