I don't know who is writing it this week. I'd write it about a wild purple night in N'awwleans, but I have an essay to do...

Think I'm doing this one - will have to wait until after my assignments get done today, probably 8pm'ish.

I noticed your team isn't doing to well, who do you have out?

^ This dick has been trolling our board as well - popped up during school holidays.

On topic - I was hoping to see Viney and Toumpas in person, exciting talents. I was cheering for you guys against Richmond - was happy with the effort and application in the first half - good signs.

On our side of things - with Walters out we'll likely bring Crozier back in. Mzungu may get a reprieve but he was close to being dropped to find some form in the WAFL. The rest of the team is pretty stable for what has been a challenging series of games with the injuries. The biggest problem we have right now (and you'll see it in the Sydney match) is the lack of tall options up forward, which forces us to kick to leading smalls or into space for them to crumb on the slingshot. That last kick into the F50 has been a problem - lots of entries but with no real target it's been a problem. For a while during the Sydney game we were bombing it onto the head of a small - which is never going to work :P

We've been discussing Fyfe pushing up the ground a bit more to provide a forward target, but it's a bit of a rob Peter to pay Paul scenario. If you guys tag him - Mundy will be the one to watch. He's been copping the tag more often this season (and doesn't handle it well)

Banter with Shockers supporters? Not sure its worth it after the quality of the Ninthmond thread.
:p

Never in the same sentence :p

Have a feeling there won't be huge changes this week. Toumpas may be the only out for Watts. Sounds as though they were happy with Blease's game as well so he may get a run in the vest in place of Bail. Outside of that I can't see them making many changes to be honest.

Viney is out for 4 weeks and Toump was hurt last game so you might not get a chance

Yeah I know - bit cut up about that. Nothing more exciting than seeing some of the comps up and coming talents on show. Hoping that Simpson or Michie get a call up on our side, but doubtful for either.

Why is Josh Tynan playing VFL 2's. He played AFL last year FFS.

Problem with recruiting experienced VFL players like Pedersen, Gillies is that people like Tynan have their development stifled.

Fitzpatrick, Fitzpatrick Fitzpatrick. I'm not sure I understand what Neeld wants to do with this side. He puts an over-abundance of talls down back then only one up forward with Gawn floating up or down. He's brought Dawes, Clark and Hogan in for some kind of forwardline plan he has but refuses to have two stay at home talls up forward when Clark is unavailable.

Watts should be the other tall forward.
However, a statement from Neeld.........
“We know that he’s a really good user of the footy, so if we can get the ball in his hands across half-back that will help us.”
**** no! He's a forward Mark! Play him forward! **** me!

Garland is more than capable of that role. Get Watts in the forward line!

Josh has been out form in the VFL, nothing wrong him wrong with him going back down to get some form back, as for playing AFL last year, he probably wasn't even ready, I doubt he would of got a game at 15 other clubs, give him time to develop even if its in the VFL D league. Pedro and Gillies are KPP's, they aren't keeping him out of the side, let him develop at the level he's at.

If Watts plays down back I will flip, with Frawley, Sellar, Garland and Dunn over 191cm we don't need another tall down there, play Watts in his best position.

Wipe 3 of the guys off the bench and replace them with the blokes who are currently injured, and i'd be really happy with this weeks team.

Bail, Nicho, McKenzie - replaced with Viney, Clark and Grimes.

In: Byrnes, Watts.

Out: Strauss, Toumpas

How does Bail survive every week? Davey, Byrnes and Bail in the forward line, rebounding defender Strauss out, where is Watts going to play?

What! I had to double check the Strauss out thing cause I just couldn't believe it, and it does say omitted, not soreness or injury, geezus that one peeves me off. I thought he was doing alright and structurally it makes sense to have him in defence, felt like he was getting better each week. Argh.

Not a fan of Strauss missing out but Byrnes adds some more experience to the forward half and Watts can play either end so it's not that bad. They like Bail's run and carry and while he hasn't set the world alight neither has Strauss who took almost a half last week to get a stat.

Yeh true but Strauss has class in his kicking, and I think like Tapscott if you give him a few games he might start grow into a role and settle down, just too much in out for a select few of our guys, Strauss being one of them, just doesn't allow them to get consistency.

True. I want to make the argument that Neeld simply isn't putting up with sub par performances, and Strauss didn't do much at all last week, but then Bail hasn't been flash either in recent times. He made more of an impact as the sub last week, and I'm anticipating he will get that gig again this week (him or Nicho anyway) and come on for some run on the wide spaces of Subiaco.

Yeah, Strauss didn't offer much offensively - was really solid defensively though, his man (Nahas) got dropped this week.

Poor call by Neeld IMO, if it was at the G it might have been Bail since Strauss isn't as good a runner.

Very poor call, the only reason would have to be the size of Patersons. Bail is very very lucky. Will he be sub again?

Bail gives us run, something Strauss isn't doing much of yet. Bail is fitter and can spread, something we will need plenty of over in Perth. If it was anywhere else you would think Strauss keeps his spot but I see the logic behind the changes.

Strauss probably dropped to accomodate Watts in the backline.

I don't even know anymore.

How Bail is Best 22 astounds me.
