Jonas was excellent yesterday. Was on Kennedy for a while and he had no where near the influence he normally does.
i personally dont like Jonas but i can see his value to the team as a lock down defender, my dislike of him is that he is to 1 dimensional and lacks the leg speed and provides little run from defence. Personally id like to see Austin take his place but i think he isnt ready and lacks experience. I remember Basset saying a couple of weeks ago that Jonas is our best defender which had me a little worried but maybe im wrong and Jonas is the Dale Morris of our team who gets the job done every week.

Posters praising Amon, Polec, Jonas - what's happened to our 'whipping boys'?

Even Toumpas was getting praised in the SANFL this week. The world has gone mad!

I reckon Jonas won't be as effectual on longer and wider grounds. His speed is still a big concern. Played well yesterday though.

If we were to replace Westhoff who realistically would come in for him as it's super handy having a guy who can go forward or back but he just needs to do it better than yesterday.

anyone who wants Impey in has rocks in their head, he has one thing going for him and that is his speed, apart from that he generally butchers the ball and doesnt get enough of it. I hope Jasper will be ready and if so id have to drop houston for him, I also really want Atley in the team but i dont trust him to play 4 quarters of AFL, give him 2 weeks in the SANFL and if he's good enough then he takes S Grays place
No way would I drop Houston for pittard

If he wasn't injured, I'd try Doogs. In his absence, possibly Frampton?
Frampton should be first in if Ryder or Jacko ever get injured...but be prepared for him to get reported in his first game... madman... loves to whack first, footy second...will be a cult hero when most finally watch him play.

Know what you mean, but I think there's room for one or two slower defenders in a game and Jonas (I feel) had a pretty standout game yesterday. Took a lot of extremely solid marks and had a pretty decent KE%

Although I like the idea of no changes, I wouldn't mind Robbie Gray having a weeks rest if he's actually injured. Even before the huge head knock he looked a bit off and I'd prefer to not risk his long term playing for short term gain.

Not sure how I feel about Sam Gray. Some of his turnovers frustrated me, but he bobbed up everywhere near the end.

Think I'll actually be pretty happy regardless of what happens. Winning feels weird right now.

I really like Jonas but we would be a better side if he could add to his lock down role with a bit of good decision making and skill execution to match.
For that reason I see him vulnerable to being replaced by a good ball user if the opposition is shorter.
What a great problem to have, looking for improvement after a good win!
I've been a big critic of TJ in the past but that was the best game he's played since 2014, the conditions probably helped but he was a rock down back & his disposal was much better than it normally is & provided a few long precise kicks.

Also whilst I don't agree with Kornes that he was better than Boak on the day he gave him votes on the Sunday footy show.

To all Sammie Gray haters - get off his case, coz he ain't going nowhere!! What's better than having one Sammie in the the team, the answer is two Sammies.
Krak & Jars will suit up for the 2's next week and especially Jars, I would keep him there for at least 3 weeks, I don't want him to be subjected to the filthy abuse he will cop from the morons if he played at the showdown.
If the other Gray does not come up - re his obvious injury/concussion - perhaps the travelling emergency ie Joe Atley may get a guernsey?

Thanks Sam.

Fair call but I would jeep an unchanged side.

Jars, Krak and Austin will get their chances soon enough.

good to have depth....
