Changes vs Fremantle

Out: Hutchings (inj), Schofield
In: McGovern, Barrass

Hurn Barrass Sheppard
Nelson McGovern Jetta
Gaff Yeo Masten
Allen Darling Cripps
Ryan Kennedy Rioli
Naitanui Shuey Sheed
Redden Hickey Cameron Duggan

Suspect Petch will need another week which gives Cameron a reprieve. Masten lucky to stay in but Hutchings’ injury makes that fairly likely.

Not sure we need a replacement tagger for Hutchings per se. It’s not an easy role and only really worth it if your man is winning that contest. Stick Nelson on Walters when he’s forward and put a body on him at the stoppages

In - lots of Freo flogs booing, but still claiming the “moral booing high ground”

I hope to hear at least 30-35 strong vitriolic boos.

Come at us...

Hurn Gov Shep
Cole Barrass Duggz
Redden Shees Gaff
Rioli Darling Cripps
Ryan JK Cameron
Nic Shue Yeo
Hicks Muntz Jetts (Insert player)

Out: Allen, Schofield, hutch, masto
In: Gov, Barrass, Cole, (insert player)

Move Nelson to hutch role and add best preferred to last bench spot

Perth already run out of streamers and balloons this week

**** burn already lined up with a GF ticket tape parade stemming from Claremont down to that $hit hole

Have to give Failmantle their 5 mins of mediocrity in the sun. God bless their intellectually challenged centrelink hobos.

In: Smith Barrass McGovern
Out: Masten Schofield Hutchings

Smith is demanding a crack in the running mid, Masten's two weeks back in the seniors have been thoroughly underwhelming. I think he is no longer AFL level.

We need to drop a tall if we bring back Gov and Barrass, which is bad luck for Schoey.

I'd rotate Nelson to half forward and play him as the forward line tagger in place of Hutchings.

Hickey a late out if the weather is poor, but generally speaking a like the HickNat combination- Hickey wears them down, Nic comes on and jumps all over them.

Don't we usually tag walters? Then Nelson makes sense. He can be the niggly tagger that goes to him and then perfect match up if Walters goes forward.

Yep. Nelson to stick hard to Walters and Yeo to go head to head with Fyfe. The only other I am worried about is Brad Hill.

I hope this week we play perfect football and blow them off the park.

They always kick it straight to McGovern.

Gov and Barrass are hopefully in, the outs will be interesting.

Masten hasn't done much to repay the faith and there's others actually playing well in the WAFL.

I hope Hickey stays, he's in good form.

After some thought.

Out: Hutchings, Cameron, Allen
In: McGovern, Barrass, Petch

Nelson to Hutchings role.
Potentially Cole in for Schofield. Perhaps if rain hangs around.

Not that I agree with his inclusion atm but it would typical MC decision to bring Ainsworth to replace Hutch. Has the tank to tag and is a contested sort of player. Pretty sure he played a game as a tagger last year (could be wrong or it was at WAFL level).

Actually the only way i see him making at AFL level is as a tagger.

20 years ago, 1999 the year. The Millennium approached. Dazzler10 was travelling England, playing cricket, as a young fella. The Aussies won an epic cricket World Cup, English girls were falling over themselves for me (as I remember things), the world was my oyster, life was damn good.

The Eagles had never lost a game to Fremantle. Not a SINGLE game.

I called home to Mum and Dad.

Dazzler: "Hi Dad, how's it going? How much did we win Derby 10 by?"

Daddy Dazzler: "I have some bad news.... [Muffled words as the news sinks in]."

Fast forward to 2019. Finally, 2 decades on, West Coast has the chance to extend its lead in derby H2H's to double digits for the first time in all of human history, and right the wrongs of '99. Let's f***in' do this, kents!!

Don't know how but it's not good if oallen misses out.

He's a special player. Drop Kennedy?

Now now relax...but we can't leave him out for McGovern or barrass.

I'm going Schofield Masten and Hutchings
Out

Barrass, Petch and McGovern in.

Out: Hutchings, Schofield, Allen, Masten
In: Ah Chee, Cole, Mcgovern, Barrass

Nelson to tag, the 3 backs in obvious spots and Ah Chee to be given a defined midfield role and told it's his only shot to rekindle his AFL career. He is a big body and has the ability. Hugely better in the air and at the man than Masten and if he can focus on a role defensively he can help make up for the loss of hardness with Hutch going down.

These changes all seem like shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. All the credible opinions agree that Freo are the better list, and closer to a grand final than us (much closer actually since this game is their grand final) … so I'm hoping for a miracle but pencilling this one in as a loss and hoping we can bounce back against the Pies the following round.

Gov & Barrass are the obvious ins, both tall defenders. The obvious outs are Hutch, Cameron & Masten, all smalls (and none defenders).

Either the MC makes some hard decisions or we go in with an unbalanced side. 2018 they were shrewd with their selections, 2019 not so much. Be interesting to see what happens.

Does the current Freo forward line sans Taberner and Hogan warrant Barrass’ inclusion as well as Gov this week?

Maybe we’d be better served giving Tommy another week off (with a reasonably hard weekend running session) and bringing him back against the Pies to take on Cox the following week?

Gov is an automatic inclusion and goes to Brennan Cox. Would have thought Sheppard has got McCarthy covered?
