It's also not about Tippett being unable to play. He's trained 100%, he can play. It's just that, if he plays, he puts himself at risk of suffering a fourth concussion, and obviously the doctor's feel that's a big enough risk to want him to rest another week.

This is nothing to do with Tippett being a sook who can't handle hits and doesn't want to be here. He's done everything possible to get back on the park and would be there with bells on if he could get permission to do so from the club doctor.

No no no Stabby. I'm sure he's probably told the Club he'd rather watch the final of the Women's Synchronised swimming tomorrow and ask them if he could sit this one out. I'm sure he'd rather sit on the couch for another week...

I know concussions are a serious business etc but theres definitley something suss going on here.
Tippett has trained well for 2 weeks, pulls up fine, coach and captain say he'll play, results show no long term damage and come back clear yet they say "the doctors feel its safer for him not to play". He's either leaving and their not playing him, or the AFL are secretly forcing Adelaide to give him at least a month off. As far as I can tell if someone trains well, pulls up fine and feels 100% they play. Theres something not quite right about all this...
We were told on this site weeks ago that Kurt would not play until Brisbane match courtesy of AFL and that week by week suggestions would be going to play.

My preferred team:

FF: Callinan Jenkins Johnston
HF: Vince Walker Douglas
C: van Berlo Dangerfield Sloane
HB: Mackay Talia Reilly
FB: Doughty Rutten Shaw
1R: Jacobs Thompson Wright
B: Petrenko Riley Smith
Sub: Johncock

I think we looked most dangerous at the start of the year when we played 3 talls up forward. Obviously because of injuries and suspensions this has been hard. I like Mackay and Reilly on the HBF to give us some drive. Johncock as Sub, because he's our biggest impact player.

Stop bringing logic to the thread Stabby, let the conspiracy theorists have their fun.

My understanding of it is that he is not actually at greater risk of further concussion. It's just that, if he gets concussed while he still has symptoms, then that concussion could be more serious than if he was symptom-free.

Even if he's fully recovered and gets a 4th concussion, that's the end of his season. If its a severe one, it could easily be Scotty Stevens all over again. Its such a high profile case that the club has to be ultra conservative, for legal reasons as much as anything else.

It really does complicate his contractual situation. He's a high risk commodity now.
