Heard that and thought same thing.

Dont want to see Tambo out after one game, but he could the one out for Mackay.

I hope we use the three games after the Freo one to get guys like

Lynch
Johnston
Brown
Tambo
Kerridge
McKernan
McIntyre
Jeanch
etc

some game time. As we never know what could happen in a Final and some of these in form SANFL fringe players could be important if we cop some injuries in September. They need some AFL "touch".

I was very much against using the GWS game as a opportunity to trial players. Provided we beat Freo I would agree with this exercise this time round. If we lose to Freo we would need to re-evaluate this exercise. By that it might mean doing it or not doing it or it could mean how many we play in a game. It certainly is important to get some game time into these kids but we must also pick our moment.

I don't really want to see Callinan gone but his current form isn't where it needs to be. I'd send him back to Centrals to get his confidence up and snag a few, throw Stiffy forward in that role. Mackay back in, in defence.

Tippett comes back in if fit. We need to make the most of all remaining opportunities, we have looked a bit lost going forward without Tippo up there. Allows Walker then to roam a bit more too. Not sure who goes out for Tippett on Balance. Maybe Porps will get a week to rest his shoulder?

EDIT: If Porplyzia plays, I think there are 23 or 24 players that deserve a game (I think both Reilly & Tambling deserve a second crack) meaning there will be a couple unlucky to miss out.

Tambling had the highest D.E. on our team, and had more impact than Callinan, including rebounding from the 50m and the handball to sauce that set up our goal.

We will never win a flag with Rutten in our team, he's far too slow and relies on the rest of our defense, offloading the pressure onto them. Talia is our best shut down defender. We should put Lynch in back (this will never happen though) until Henderson can come back as a rebounding defender, .

Can't believe the calls to have wingnut dropped. Shame on you all

The small forward position is one of the hardest, if not the hardest to play. You will find small forwards will drift in and out of games and go missing for blocks of games. This includes players like Milne and Rioli.

I think you can see the coincidence of wingnut's quiet block of games with Tippett's absence. All small forwards need those big men to feed off.

He has the experience and silk we need up forward and can be rotated through the middle. I highly doubt he will be dropped.

Also ask yourself. Do you really want him back at centrals and qualifying for finals to lead the dogs to another flag?

I know I wont mind :D

(Prefer him in the crows line up though)

Under the secret deal with the AFL, we will announce later this week that Kurt needs another full week of training before he returns (thus completing his unofficial four week suspension).

A broken toe takes more than 2 weeks to heal so D-Mac misses another one.

I suspect that they will give Porps a week for his shoulder to settle down.

Out - Porplyzia

In - Lynch (he needs a week in the red vest, his form in the SANFL is starting to embarrass the selectors)

Hey guys,
Can I ask what you think about this?

I was at the game last night, and from what I saw, Tambling has speed and we need this. Yes Riley got more posessions(also did get a full game too though), but he is just another inside hard ball midfielder, which we have several quality players to do this already. Tambling provides the outside run that we might need. In half a game, I saw a spark, something that with confidence and form we might be able to harness. Sando talked about how we had no run from defence in the 1st half, it changed in the 2nd, possibly due in some part to Tambling. With all things that have been said about him, he might fill a role to help balance out our side with hard ball inside players/outside runners. Thoughts?

L Johnston please. Defenses are converging around Wacky, a bit of spread would be nice. Tippo returning solves the problem also.

I think he is tiring. Looked to have lost a bit of pace last night.

De Boer and Pav can accept Reprimands but McPharlin has been offered a week

Out: Porps (rest that shoulder)

In: Lynch (as Sub)

Stiffy to play forward and Tambling to play of the HBF. Tippett and Mackay will be rested for another week IMO.

He would not be able to qualify now surely .
He spends a fair bit of time on the ball and up in the action .
I was his greatest fan but we are carrying too many not getting enough of the ball .
Others like Doughty , Petrenko , Stiffy dont think will be dropped so putting Wingnut under pressure

I thought Tambling was ok when he came on. He wasn't prominent but he didn't stuff anything up - that toe poke wasn't a bad idea but he very slightly undercooked it. He was involved in one or two nice chains of possession (did really well in a chain of handballs leading to I think Douglas' flying shot which Jenkins marked in the goalsquare) and as someone has pointed out, gave the handball to Sauce to pass to Stiffy for the goal which put us in front for good.

If D-Mac is fit then he might be the one to go, but I hope he gets another crack. I really want him to succeed.

I think we're likely to go in unchanged - reckon Tipp and D-Mac might still both be a week away. Callinan on thin ice, particullarly with Johncock showing that he is pretty much a forward and a forward only at this point.

Wasn't quite sure where to put this but these are a few of my perspectives on sunday's game after watching it and a few others live.

Callinan is not a crumbing forward; he is a smart footballer and an onballer, but not a natural crumber. His footy smarts means that he can adequately fill the role but a natural and explosive quick crumber is still needed by the Crows. His smarts and Petrenko's pace would be a fine match.

Jenkins is going to be a good player once he learns properly how to lead The ball would be coming through the centre and players would be looking for a lead and he'd be stationary. He reads the ball in flight extremely well and quickly though allowing him to compete successfully against two opponents.

Johncock's days as a backman are not numbered. He won some crucial one on one contests using smart body positioning in the last two quarters as well as taking some fine marks up forward.

I apologize for my burst in the game day thread.

Admittedly may rant was a consequence of having too much riding on the game, but no excuse.

Thank you Vader for no holidays.

Anyways, I would like Tippett to be given another week and to play against teams not desperate for a victory as we will experience in the last three games.

Callinan deserves one more game.

Would like Tambling to play another as well, if for anything to increase our depth.

As a precaution Porps could be rested, making way for Mackay if fully fit.
