IMO I don't actually think that a week or two with Centrals would hurt him at all, he looks to be a player very much out of touch and I think going back to a lower level, finding 30 touches and kicking 4 goals could be the best thing for him. Finding touch as a small forward can be extremely difficult at times and often a bit of a change of scenery or position for a couple of weeks can do the world of good.

this is exactly what i was thinking reading the discussion. nutter is clearly in the best 22 (in the coaches eyes) so i see no negative in dropping him to regain form. the benefit also extends to the possibility that someone gets their chance and may be used as cover if someone else gets injured.

of course theres the chance that he doesnt find form and we're still better off. this isnt like dropping a youngster.

just dont let him play enough games to qualify for sanfl finals.;)

Harper indicating they will retain jj with tips return. I like this sructure, gives us greati competiveness up fwd. Mckay back for sn unlucky tambling.

Leaves one spot which imo boils down to callinan or riley. I think on bslance I would like to see nut given a chance to work off a tall fwd line. One question i do have is whether there is stand out match up for pets. Don't know freo well enough. Can't think of a defensive playmaker they have.

In tipp mckay
Out tambling riley.

Its time to settle a side for finals and imo those changes present our strongest available 22.

Duffield in recent seasons but he's been crap lately. Actually wouldn't mind seeing Pets go and get the footy. Needs to give us a bit more offensively.

Fair call.

As an aside I sa5 close fence in members on sunday. Pets was charging toward a player on the boundary so i had a close view of him front on. He looked so ferocious that his face was barely human which combined with his closing speed caused some panic well before he actually arrived. I was Shitting myself and i had fence to protect me.

How do you define importaince tho? Is thomo danger and sloane more or less importaint to our finals chances than Talia or rutten? How about Walker or Tip?

If we replace callinan with a player and expect him to do the same things as callinan, we dont have anyone that is close.
If we replace Callinan, it almost certainly won't be on a like-for-like basis. It would probably be a case of IN: Jenkins, OUT: Callinan. The likes of Wright, Johncock & Petrenko could (or should) be able to pick up most of the created by Callinan's loss, while Jenkins offers something that Callinan doesn't.

I'm not saying that it will or should happen, but it is definitely a possibility.

Interesting, not sure if it's been posted elsewhere:

Sad to hear about the big fella getting hit in the scone again today!! #candles #wowweeeee @KurtTippett4 eyes in the back of your head??

Also, in other news, from the same source as above. :D
The goté ran its last race today. Had to get rid of it!! Now the face feels like #ababysbum

Duff has played his best games of the season these last 2-3 weeks. With McPharlin gone we are definitely lacking a bit of run and carry from defence though, need to rely on Ibbotson and Spurr to give Duff a chop out though.

Michael Johnson,(Luke McPharlin out suspended), Paul Duffield, even David Mundy has played that role earlier in the season (while he was trying to find form). We have no shortage of defensive playmakers. Our deficiency is pace in the middle. We really only have Hill who can break the lines, which is why he cops the heavy tag week in week out.

Thinking we might see Lower in for MacPharlin, and Mundy to HB, with Lower in the guts.

If Tippett and Mackay are back it basically comes down to dropping Riley or Jenkins. IMO play Jenkins and stretch their defence
Just heard that there will be another new face this week. Lewis Johnston to play his third AFL game and his first for the Crows. I guess the selectors want to see how he fares as an alternative goalkicking option up forward. Seen him for the Roosters and he has a beautiful kick for goal. Well worth giving the guy some experience in case he's needed.

Then Tippett isn't playing if you are right.....

If true, very exciting. I'd imagine that would mean the Porpoise would be rested just to be safe, or would be playing more midfield.
If not, that is one stacked forward line with it being:

Callinan, Tippett, Petrenko
Johnston/Jenkins, Walker, Porplyzia
with Johnston floating up the wing to do the i50 passes whilst Jenkins is not rucking.

Crows won't play Jacobs, Walker, Tippett, Jenkins & Johnston in the same team.

If Johnston is playing, then it means Tippett isn't fit yet, as Jenkins should not be dropped.

I suspect Johnson may be an emergency.

Lynch once again forgotten.

My informant has withdrawn his information...Sorry guys! I think he could be an interesting selection regardless.

It is very easy to predict who will go.

Doughty (33 years old) struggling - Stays
Callinan (29) really struggling - Stays
Riley (20) great game first up - Goes

It's like recruiting a P.A. Do you select the candidate with the best qualifications or the one with the most experience? Neither, you select the one ..........................

First man out will be Tambling (25) what does that do to your argument?

I thought Bling showed a bit last week. I would have preferred giving him games this year compared to Dogga and a fast fading Stiffy.

It's not like I'm calling these things with the benefit of hindsight.

B: Sam Shaw, Ben Rutten, Michael Doughty
HB: Graham Johncock, Daniel Talia, Brent Reilly
C: Bernie Vince, Scott Thompson, Nathan van Berlo
HF: Rory Sloane, Taylor Walker, Matt Wright
F: Jared Petrenko, Kurt Tippett, Ian Callinan
FOLL: Sam Jacobs, Patrick Dangerfield, Richard Douglas
INT: Josh Jenkins, David Mackay, Brent Reilly, Brodie Smith
EMERG: Lewis Johnston, Chris Knights, Richard Tambling
IN: David Mackay, Kurt Tippett
OUT: Jason Porplyzia (shoulder bruising), Richard Tambling (omitted)

Precautionary for Porps you'd expect. Happy with those changes though and happy for Riley to stay in the team hopefully he stays away from the Green Vest. It's a strong team though.
