Running around without an opponent can do that
Who will Johnno get Tarrant or Hansen.

Johno is generally playing fairly loose. He is averaging 6.8 marks per game, and he is taking quite a few contested marks, which is a good outcome for us. His vision is good although he is occasionally not hitting the target. So he is the kind of reader which then releases through the corridor. Would not surprise me if he gets Tarrant and makes him accountable. Both players have good endurance.

Teams generally man up on Johnson and then they have allowed McPhee to be the release player. McPhee's confidence is at its best in purple. His kicking has been direct low and fast, compared to some of the bombing hospital balls he seemed to do when he first arrived so it has worked well for us.

The big issue for us is the speed you guys have across the ground. Mind you Rochmond are no slouches and they only managed to break through for a few easy running goals. Given they did manage to stuff up a few.

I appreciate we managed to out-run the Bombers and win 4 quarters against Collingwood without these three but let's not forget Wells, Grima & Adams would be in the top 10 of our B&F if they played 22 games, they are still big losses.

We will need the guys to continue picking up the slack as this is Fremantle's season on the line. Let's not let these purple pricks cost us a home final!

You're not playing a conventional 1-2 talls forward line this week.

He plays loose on Hansen or Tarrant and the game will be over in 40 minutes.

We're averaging 120 points a match at Docklands since the triple towers have been activated.

Adelaide, who couldn't beat Brisbane last week, had 34 shots on goal v Freo the week before.

Before that they had a good win over West Coast and then 4 wins against GC, GWS, the Bulldogs and Melbourne.

In other words, they have beaten one top ten side in the past seven matches.

Big deal!

Just wanted to come in here and wish you guys all the best. I love watching how you are playing, you are one of the teams people love to watch when their team isnt playing, and cant believe the change since the game down in Tassie. Pls finish 6th and knock over Geelong in the first final!! Go Roos

Yes thanks for the well wishes, would be good to get over Freo this week and have some impact on the finals.

I hope for your sake you win :)

If we lose, it will be our doing and not Fremantles, I can assure you of that.

Your only claim to fame in your 6-1 record of the past 7 weeks has been a win over West Coast.

Every other win has been over an 11th to 18th ranked side.

In that period we have beaten four top 8 sides and had a last minute 2 point loss to another top 8 side.

Our form line shits all over yours.

It's amusing - out of all the north supporters, you're the most ... inflated :p

With your attitude - 'if we lose it's our fault' - it's the same excuse driven mentality that fragile supporters have.

Why not accept that if you lose - it's because the better team on the day won. Either way - for your sake, good luck and I hope you guys win. Not sure if you could wrap your head around a loss - wouldn't want you to hurt yourself.

We won't lose, so it's not an issue for me.

How did Adelaide manage to accumulate 34 scoring shots against your magnificent defence, only a fortnight ago?

Adelaide have less firepower than North.

The lack of one of our key midfield accumulators and our best defender? McPharlin is more important to our structure than most realise.

Since you pick up on that single game as 'proof of theory' why not extend that to the overall performance of our defense over the last 10 games? If you're selecting a small sample size, of course you're going to get information that fits your flawed arguments ;)

Go look up confirmation bias.

The last 10 games?

Okay.

Let's put the 11th/12th and lower teams to one side. Richmond x 2, Port, GWS, Bulldogs and Melbourne.

That leaves 4 games.

Essendon had 28 shots and a comfortable win.
Collingwood had 32 shots and a comfortable win.
Adelaide had 34 shots and a comfortable win.

None of these clubs has Norths current fire power.

You had a good win over West Coast.

See, it's not really that flash after all, is it?

McPharlin is a great CHB no doubt, but I'm unsure too many teams have had to deal with a forward structure like Tarrant, Hansen & Petrie, everyone will be accountable and for their height all three are great below the knees.

I have to agree with Teffy again here, it's our game to lose.

:p And yet there are Carlton supporters in disguise jumping on the North bandwagon ... Beware the enemy within ;)
As much as we have to dislike your mob for the week as we are playing eachother (derp derp)
the Carlton love in for our club has been disgusting.
So if we do beat you, we actually hope you then smash the living daylights out of Melbourne and jump into 8th.
then we can beat you again ;)
Otherwise well run carlton into the ground like we did a month ago.
For the record Freo are a worthier opponent then the Blues.

As you know we're floyin' we want to beat you guys then the kids the week after then whoever we come across ......our goals at the start of the season were only to make it to the dance come sept and it appears we've done that now. At this moment our form is white hot in a season where anything can happen......I for one am optimistic that we can make it into the 2nd week of the finals. ( I think from a club inner scotums point of view ) that is our next goal....anything that happens after that is a bonus.
I think the players as a whole will be enjoying experience, the training sessions in the lead up to the game etc. Hearing the coaching staff that has had that finals experience and the thoughts they can impart and share etc. To be honest I wish it were the other way around where we play Carlton and you guys were hoping we could roll them so you could get in........I would hope the majority here would want that, because its Carlton.

You're right we only beat crap teams like port and the bulldogs. How did you go against them?

Why argue?
The point being made is that you have beaten one out of 6 top 8 sides where as we have beaten 3 out of 6.
Based on that form, games against the bottom 10 teams means **** all.
If we wanted it take it further we could argue we beat Essendon when they were in the 8, Saints when they were in the 8, Carlton when they were in the 8 and had just beaten collingwood and Richmond when they were up and about.
But you lost to 2 of those teams so form wise we are still better on that count.

Yep. Don't recall them being too fond of circa Round 16.

Couldn't give a stuff if they want us to win. Putrid club.
