If we're playing Tambling, who is still only 26, he's no certainty to be de-listed.

Because if the decision had already been made to delist him.... it would be pointless to play him.

Inside midf? he would get beaten up badly.
Do you think he could play up forward/Half forward? I thought thats where he played most of his jnr footy.

Must give you credit for having so much faith in Tambling.

When was the last time you watched Tambling play? He has no trouble what so ever with the tough stuff, having seen a couple of his SANFL games this year it's definitely his strength. His ability to win the contested ball at that level is easily a level above. What isn't a level above is his disposal, there's no thought, no care it's just about getting it to the first guy he sees as quickly as possible.

Oh and Tambling was definitely a midfielder with both inside and outside qualities as a junior, you don't get drafted as high as he did without them. Unfortunately everyone's just put the old stereotype into play and assumed he's a soft outside player who should either be a small forward or a half back flanker.

It could just be that we've decided to delist Tambling, but use him as a fringe player while he's still here, and this week was it.

Presumably if Kerridge was fit and ready we'd play him.

Right? :(

How is Kerridge not fit and ready? He actually missed, what 1 game with injury? Last week he was close to best on for Sturt and he was named in our 25. We're acting like he had an 8 week lay off like Johnston.

Help me out here somebody. Does there exist some sort of legal obligation (duty of care or something) that binds or constrains a/the club re the management of a player whom the club may seek to delist midway through a contract period? What I'm saying is, is the club required to have selected and given the player a chance to 'show his wares' at some stage through the season to mitigate payouts etc for a mid contract termination? So is this a precursor to delisting?.....that is if Tambling is in fact mid-contract?

Absolutely stoked to see Grigg get a go.... By the way Sando talked he is a certain starter for the midfield.... Love this, none of the BS sub stuff here.

Dear me, some of the hysterical, shrill reactions to Tambling have been almost embarrassing.

We dont have 20 Gary Abletts to pick from, give the lad a chance, he has been picked (ostensibly) as our 22 player..... AND IS REPLACING THE JELLYFISH JAENSCH. Geesus, get a grip people, the season is shot and we need to start having a look at players or at the absolute minimum giving them some trade currency.

If Bling gets 20 odd touches and looks capable, there will almost be a meltdown on here Norf style.

Happy with Mitch and Rich in. Getting first hands on the footy is gonna be pretty important against the Cats, hopefully both will help us there.

You think Tambling might have trade value and you call those questioning his selection hysterical.

It's obvious he doesn't have a future with us and he shouldn't be taking the spot of someone who does.

Having said that we better play him as the small forward as some have suggested, if as expected he is the sub why select him? Can't improve his trade value on the bench

Tambling is out of contract.

I would be shocked if this guy makes it as a midf in the AFL after everything ive seen of him

Nobody here claims they are better than Richard Tambling at football, but that doesn't mean they can't criticise the dismal performance he has offered the Crows since being here, and the dismal performance he offered Richmond before getting here. What we look like in comparison on the football field is irrelevant. When you go and see a movie and it's shit, do you refrain from calling it shit because you couldn't make a better movie yourself?

There is nothing worse than a hot girl never filmed from the right angle.

Tambling will be sub, come on in the last qtr in the backlines when we are 50 points down and be out the next week. He may not be a part of our club next year but he has been poorly treated by 2 coaches. He deserves at least 2 weeks, no player should be in one week out the next.

Agree with the small forward role, the guy has great defensive pressure. Maybe short bursts through the midfield

Agree with Faith. Tambling should be playing as a small/half forward. I have wanted to see this since we drafted him. I thought when he was drafted by Richmond I swear I saw his pace and damaging goals?

Where did i specifically say he had trade currency? I agree that we have other younger players that will be better options long term however if he is in form at the SNAFL and can offer anything at all more than Jaensch et al then give him a go. We need to be relative with our thinking.

I said we need to look at our fringe players now that the season is gone AT A MINIMUM to see if any of them have anything to offer or have potential currency, because, you know, we have SFA in draft picks.

He has had more than enough chances and has not taken them.

He hasn't played this year, and we have been giving gold pass games to the likes of Mackay, Jaensch and VB who have been terrible.

Forget his name his Tambling and just think we are picking a fringe player who apparently can tackle better than half our side and has some mongrel about him... :thumbsu:

Well lets hope he does but I am not holding out on hope.

He has played this year. He played a shocking second half after coming on to replace VB in the showdown.

He's had his chances. He has all the physical tools to be a gun at AFL level but he is mentally weak.

It's a shame but he will be remembered as a high draft pick who burned two clubs who invested heavily in him.

Whack the BLING as a Permanent Forward pocket tell him his life is on the line at this club
give him the freedom to go where he want's to go and DON'T go PASS the CENTRE LINE
for at least 3 games :thumbsu:

Tambo's biggest issues is between the ears and reading the play to be effective. See ball get ball get rid of ball is his game.

I agree that if he could fix that he is physical enough to play inside. His pace would be an effective weapon in such a role. As it is for Danger. Danger is basically everything Terry Wallace thought Tambling would become when he picked him ahead of Buddy.

I think Wright was named on the ground and not the bench. Usually the sub comes from one of those named on the bench.
I would also like Wright to be the sub as he is carrying an injury, but more likely to be 1 of the 2 ins.

Hope Thommo plays a blinder in his 200, but still think we should be resting him whilst injured.

Someone should fire up Bling before the game. He is on his last chance & most of his problems are mental.
