But he did play today.

Kerridge will come back in with Grigg and Johnson.
Did Kerridge play today as didn't think he was named.

Yes, he should come back in when ready & play out the rest of the year, along with all our other youngsters - Lyons, Grigg, Crouch, etc. Need to try both Hartigan & Johnston too. No reason both can't play (eg. rest Otten).

Kerridge having a good day for Sturt, covering the ground well

Kedge should be back in, Grigg also. LJ if he pulls up ok but im not fussed on him really. Will we risk Patty, he'll wanna play no doubt. If not then Thommo gets a stay of execution. I dont like the idea of going in with a midfield of Sloane, Lyons, Crouch and Grigg against Geelong.

In: Grigg, Johnston, Kerridge
Out: Dangerfield (inj), Thompson (inj), Jaensch

B: Otten, Rutten, Laird
HB: Grigg, Talia, Henderson

HF: Lynch, Jenkins, Douglas
F: Porplyzia, Johnston, Kerridge
R: Jacobs, van Berlo, Lyons
I: Vince, Mackay, Brown, Wright (sub)

Gee thats a young midfield. I fear what the Cats could do to us if they want to play 4 quarters.

Danger - no point risking him, as not like it is a crunch game - our season is over.

Thompson - has been very ordinary for month +, so what is the point playing him? We have been getting more output from Crouch (since his return) & Lyons (last week), so play these guys in the guts as our clearance players with experience of VB, Vince & Sloane we should be OK.

Worse to go in with unfit players than inexperience players IMO.

So has it been our experienced midfielder or inexperienced mids who have been letting us down most of this year...

Is Kerridge good to go? I thought he wasn't ready... If he is I'd be tempted to go something like:

Johnston CHF, Jenkins in the square
Lynch and Vince high half forwards
Porps in one pocket and Kerridge/Lyons (rotating through midfield) in the other

If Kerridge isn't ready Wright takes that spot. Otherwise Wright => sub.

Grigg into the midfield is a no brainer for mine. Lyons will be one of those you want two of. He is a gun in the midfield but was also a gun crumbing up forward.

By next year I want to see Smith and Polec on the wings :D

Its a fair point but without our two biggest bodies it could get even uglier. That said im not adverse to trying it out against the best.

He covered the ground well, if he pulls up well then id bring him in

IMO Thompson has been a liability in the last month - his disposal has been just awful.

Our season is cooked, so what better opportunity than to try our younger guys against the Cats midfield. Crouch, Lyons & Kerridge all have solid bodies for AFL level, so can't see that being a problem.

Not too fussed how we set up the forward line, but it can't be stagnant & we need to bring the ball in quickly to an open forward line, like we did against the Pies in the 1st quarter. That means the HF's push up the ground.

If there is the slightest doubt about Danger he must be rested. Thommo's issues seem to be getting worse and worse. So without that pair, it would mean a huge amount of our 2012 midfield grunt would be gone, facing up to the powerful Cats mids.
Players like Dougy, Sloane and to a lesser extent Wright, will need to provide some leadership to the young players filling the gaps.

:pWOW ......just WOW

I didn't mind Otten.

If Hartigan makes it I think the impact of draft selection losses will be less.

The the same can be said for Shaw and Grigg.

I have a feeling (hoping )we may have a player in Sam Siggins. From the little bits I have seen of him he looks pretty good just needs experience and a heap of muscle. Composure and skill wise he reminds me of a skinnier version of Phil Davis.

Wew have so many players, mainly senior players, out form the list if players to drop is pretty big.

I'm finding my anger this year has turned to apathy..Trigg, Chapman and co. can stuff the club up as much as they like and you and I can't do a thing about it. In that type of environment you eventually lose interest.
NO different for supporters of the other 17 clubs

Why not try following the team and baricking ...... This year has had heaps of positives
Jenkins is improving....Laird & Brown revelations.....Crouch a beauty

Shaw & Walk to come back - hopefully 2 good trades .....and certainly no time to lose interest

Laird has proven he can be a gun small defender, lets now test him further up field. Lets get Petrenko back there.

Can always swap them over mid game if its not working

No. Premierships are built from a great defense so at the very least Talia and Laird must remain in their defensive positions so they can continue to develop. As Rutten will not be at the club when we next threaten for a premiership (if) then he becomes the defender who must be moved forward to allow Hardigan to have a crack at full back. Hardigan IN to full back, Rutten to full forward.

Under normal circumstances I totally agree with you. To be honest I would still turn up every week if we spent a few years around the bottom 6 as I'm not deluded enough to think you can win a premiership without getting those top 7 picks. But what I wont do is keep blindly handing over my $$ each week when we have a management/administration who treat the supporterbase with such contempt. Unless you're a complete robot the feeling of hopelessness that I now feel towards my club will eventually turn to disinterest.

Considering our best midfielders this year have been Douglas, Dangerfield and Vince, and our most disappointing have been Thompson, van Berlo, Sloane and Wright, along with some up and down performances from Smith, Kerridge, Crouch and Lyon, I don't think it's fair to say either the experienced or inexperienced midfielders have been carrying or letting the side down as a group.

That is as it should be ......all clubs treat supporters with platitudes

they continue to spend supporters membership $$$ as monopoly money .....then ask for more

You know damn well what I'm talking about. Stop being a tool. The other 17 clubs haven't had a CEO/Board inflict the damage that ours has and still kept their jobs while continuing to show absolutely no remorse for their disasterous actions.
