I would like to see Newton in an AFL game sooner than later. Not sure Geelong is the game, but please, he does seem to deserve a go.

Moore and Newton for Sammy Gray & Wingard(?) would be an enormous upgrade on Saturday night's team.

We need bigger bodies around the ball who are also capable of spreading from a contest. Throwing Newton straight into the fire is a big risk, but one that might be worth taking. Either Moore or Newton (or both) must come in to assist Wines in winning the clearances.

Hombsch must also come in as insurance for Bobby if Hawkins is getting the better of him on the day. Trengrove is also an option, but we might need him to shoulder some of the rucking duties against Macintosh and Dawkins.

If we constantly kick it long to a contest up forward Taylor, Lonergan & Mackie will have a field day and the ball will just come back with interest. We need to be smart and create some space in our f50 that players like Gray and Wingard can lead into.

Moore, Hombsch & P.Stew in

O'shea, Gray & someone else in (impey but I dont think he deserves it)

Either way, it'll be a big week at the selection table

Only change we are making is Homsch in maybe Young out it's clear the Sanfl is about as competitive as the amateur league Good to see everyone doing everything right though.
Judgement still out, but indications that the SANFL is the second best Australian Rules competition is close to delusional.

Don't think would be best to throw newton into the fire straight away in a big game against the cats so would hold him back for 1 more week. Like Sammy we threw him into a minor game and he debuted well then the following week didn't play his best in a pretty pivotal game. Don't want to risk him being too nervous causing turnovers fumbles etc not saying this will definitely happen with his skill set but he is an absolute guarantee to play against the giants. So for me:

In Moore
Out S.Gray/Young

Cats have quite a few talls; Carlile to Hawkins, Trengove to resting Simpson/McIntosh, Cornes/Cassisi to Selwood, Cassisi/Jonas to Johnson. Thank F*** chapman and motlop wont be out there (I think motlop is still 2 weeks away although he played VFL this week). If wet let Mackie or taylor play loose then we are goneski

Johnson is going to be a handful, talk about getting better with age:thumbsu:
Was hopeful that Butcher would have done something today but he looks out of sorts.

Its hard to make changes to the side after a boots and all win in Perth, flashy footy will not beat Geelong we need a repeat of last weeks effort.
Thing is a lot of sides don't do great the next week after a Perth trip so we might need some leg speed like Neade.
Still think we can win the game even after watching the cats today,we are better than what other teams think we are.
