One thing we can be sure of for this game is whoever the Kray twins who coaches the geebungers is ( I don't care ), he will instruct his team to put our prime movers under severe physical pressure, ie Ebert, Boak, Robbie Gray, 2H etc.

If we can stand up to the early heat this game is very winnable.

I would 100% back Wingard and Monfries if the fitness staff feel they won't do any further damage. But I have a feeling we will give Monfries another week.

OUT
Young
to go back and play a full game for the Magpies as I would prefer to bring Newton in for the clearance and all round form he is in.
O'shea out for Hombsch, see O'shea as part of the future but Hombsch's execution is much better and reducing turnovers will be key I think.
S Gray to go back because I would like to see a specialist runner to come in, Mitchell for the sub.

IN
Newton
, deserves a shot and timing feels right.
Hombsch, lock in defender now.
Mitchell, would love to see the Mitchell come on just before 3/4 time and run his guts out.

Also there is talk that Motlop is unlikely to play but if he ends up being the sub. I'd like Impey to be our sub and as soon as Motlop comes on Impey comes on and shuts him out of the game from the get go. That IMO would be a huge advantage to us.

If we have an early injury just have Impey on Stokes for a little bit which releases Pittard until Motlop comes on.

EDIT: And if Pittard is that early injury, well.... :(

I agree with your outs but instead of Mitchell I would like to see Paul Stewart, he's not on the injury list and his last year was very good I'm not sure why he hasn't had a go yet.

Yeah I agree Stewart would be handy too, It's good to see we have a few options.

Out: S. Gray, Young.
In: Monfries, Hombsch.

If Monfries isn't ready to go this week, I'd consider bringing in Stewart instead. However, I could see it being as simple as Hombsch for Gray.

Why arepeople suggesting Mitchell and Neade?? Mitchell is on the rookie list and cant play unless hes elevated (which he wont be because we ned a ruck spot availale incase Lobbes get injured) and Neade has had what 1 decent game in the SANFL in a 10 goal Flogging!

IN: Monfries, Hombsch
OUT: S.Gray, Young

Not the sort of game to bring in a Debuant IMO id rather him dominat for the Magpies this week and get selected next week to play GWS!

We have 3 on the LTI (Shaw, Stevenson, Redden), meaning 3 possible rookie upgrades.
We've already upgraded Renouf and S.Gray, so we have one more possibility (most likely Mitchell, if we so choose).

Monfries in for S.Gray. If he's right, he's right. It was meant to be 4 weeks, it's been 3 and it wasn't as bad as first thought.

Hombsch in to cut off the supply to Hawkins. Young drops out.

If Angus doesn't pull up, I'd bring in Newton for Gray. Welcome to the AFL Ben.

I think Mitchell has proved he is perfect for the sub role many times before and he's even fitter again this year and looking in good touch for the Magpies, and in this game I think the sub will be important if the last qtr is close.

Heard a news clip saying Mackie is likely to miss this week.
If Mackie/Motlop misses and Hombsch/Monfries plays that would well and truly make this game a 50/50 contest.

Ross this game is already a 51/49 game in our favour IMO.

I don't want to spoil the fun of tomorrow night, but Geelong and Hawks look a bit slow IMO, if it bleeds we can kill it. Geelong bleed, it's possible.

I just hope the belief is there in the boys. In our last 3 results we have got closer and closer to winning this could be it!
With 40000+ Port supporters loud voices hopefully it makes Geelong feel like they have been hit by a huge PAFC tsunami.

Also the general positivity of 2013 makes us forget about what a gutting result that Geelong final was. But I don't think the players will have forgotten.

We have to remember as well Kens main reason for bringing Impey, Byrne-Jones, Amon, Russell, White and Polec into the club was because of what guys like Motlop did to us that day.

Man, don't remind me.
Got the letter from the club Tuesday/Wednesday about possible GF ticket allocations, thought "LOL, yeah right PAFC".

Then half time at that final, thought "shit.. maybe I should have responded to that letter properly".

it will be interesting how we turn up from last week. the trip over here to wa and the extremely fast paced game. Essendon, the bulldogs and the saints all have had terror games the week after. i don't really beleive in the tired bodies thing and given that we played in the evening that should get rid of most excuses. for a few reasons it does feel more than just 4 points this week.

I was so angry, for a variety of reasons - reverting to "oh noes we're playing Geelong" mode in Q3 after ruthlessly picking them apart in the first half. And then the customary 10-1 last quarter reaming from our old mate, Shane McInerney.

It was as if the fairytale just had to derail in the worst possible way. Had we got the first goal of the third quarter it was hard to see them coming back in the manner they did. Once they had the momentum and belief of that early barrage it was all over.

I haven't forgotten. We had those guys cooked, and it was only their older stars like Bartel, Johnson and Chapman that brought them back into it because we paid them too much respect. Not this time.
