He's flinging out his career stats like they are relevant, ffs the bloke hasn't played against half of the other teams in the AFL, let alone 50 games to make a decent assessment on his career so far.

I think 1.5 goals a game, and a 6 goal haul in his first 9 is pretty decent tbh. Does the duck realise "only 1.5 goals a game" is a 35 goal season and the same as what Aaron Black averaged when he called him "Pony" and compared him to Longmire?

Hey WF. If the game was at Etihad then I'd be one hundred percent in agreeance with you. But on a cold greasy night in Geelong a big body like Spuds is gold and the quicks of Geelong won't be as effective.

everyone is all about these wet conditions, the rain has been minimal, the surfuce is pristine and it is forecast clear maybe patchy light showers if that. It may be slippery but far from wet, similar to a dewy night match in QLd or WA maybe

Unpopular opinion alert. I think Anthony deserved a recall, maybe he's not in the clubs future plans but the guy couldn't have done more this year to prove himself. I mean some players *cough*bastinac*cough* don't seem to be playing confident, hungry North Melbourne football so I say get the ones in that are proving week in, week out that they would. Ps I like Bastinac he could be an 'A' grader in the future whilst Anthony is a 'B+' at best but Bastinac needs to show this. He's not though while Anthony is in career best form. Rant over.

Agree - he runs straight lines and if the ball is on the ground a lot he will be fine.

If its wet he can play on McIntosh and his speed will not be an issue. Lets chat at 10.30 tomorrow night.

Fingers crossed he does a job. From the outside looking in he just looks a fish out of water given where you're going. A bit like Matt Thomas was with us in 2013.

He isn't our choice for the position but injuries have forced us to make compromises all over the park.

The problem is our 3 KPDs will be occupied with Hawkins, Blicavs and McIntosh. Simpson will probably ruck the majority I would imagine.

Bartel is the problematic forward, he is too strong overhead for our smaller or younger defenders, Firrito is a reasonable matchup for him. The other defenders can take guys like Varcoe, Stokes, Murdoch, Duncan and the like.

With MacMillan, Mullett and Grima down we have to make due with what we have available.

Less than a ml mate up to now but will get 10mm by midday. Ground has super drainage and i expect less than 1mm after midday plus

a Northerly breeze is great drying conditions. Lets just hope it's a little heavy under foot as wont get a drop of rain during the match.

Tried proving this wrong by looking up his best games stats, all 30+ Possies, multiple goals and tackles games were against scrubs. However my real point is he is a better player now than he ever was so reward his commitment and effort.

Boomer - 2.5 bounces a game
Atley - 2.1 bounces a game
Mullet - 1.9 bounces a game
NDS - 1.2 bounces a game
Wells - 1 bounce a game
MacMillan - 1 bounce a game

I realise that's a fairly rudimentary way of accessing who runs with the ball and 'breaks lines' but it's all I've got. We're currently missing 3 of those players, not great. Mullet should be playing for me, he chips in with a goal from outside fifty most games too. Yes he's been out of form but he's vital.

On the other hand, to be less negative, we'll be hitting Geelong with the full meat grinder tomorrow: Cunnington, Swallow, Ziebell, Greenwood, Adams and NDS (underrated inside game). We should have no problems in the contested footy department.

A really big game from Bastinac (I've got a feeling) is needed
