If Wells is fit he comes in for Bastinac.

If Mullett is good to go he comes in for McMahon.

Interesting week at the selection table coming up. I do wonder if picking 3 guys who may not be 100% (Wells, Grima and Mullett) is the way to go in such an important game against such a good side, all at once.

But then again I don't have much confidence in McMahon and Wright left.

Maybe Wells to sub and caution with Grima is the answer.

In - Wells, Mullett
Out - Wright, McMahon

For the best 22 you would highly consider bringing in someone to debut in the their first game against Geelong?

And drop Tippett who has been in good form and bring in Grima after a foot injury which has been affecting him through the season?

I'm not being a smart arse just curious, because I genuinely don't know atm which is the best team to field.

The team against port, freo, sydney, brisbane has constantly changed. Some could aegue we didn't miss Mullet so much last night, dal santo and mcdonald provided enough run and left foot spark

I'd only like to see Wells come in for a full game and for us to return to our big bodied mid as a sub that worked so well earlier in the year. Jacobs, McKenzie or even Dumont if it wasn't such a big game would make a good sub I think.

I can't believe people would drop Tippett. He is a very good player.

Out: McMahon & Bastinac
In: Wood & Harper

It's time.

Atley - Thompson - Tippett
Wright - Hansen - McDonald
Harvey - Swallow - Dal Santo
Black - Petrie - Harper
Thomas - Daw - Wood
Goldy - Cunnington - Nahas
Ziebell Gibson Greenwood Adams

Em: Wells Mullet Garner Dumont Bastinac Jacobs
Grima

IN : Wells, Grima, Mullet
OUT : Wright, Mcmahon, Bastinac

I'm searching for a way to get Mason in but not there just yet.

Assuming Wells is a little while off, I'm nervous for Tuesday's injury list I'm expecting weeks for him now.

Out: Wright
In: Mullett

Wells for Basti (if fit)
Mullett for McMahon (if fit)
Grima for Tippett (toss a coin - Grima is valuable but Tippo hasn't put a foot wrong)
Wood for Wright (unless Wright is being prepared for the role on Stevie J)

So, in summary, somewhere between none and four changes. I haven't been right once with my changes so best just to keep the options open.

Wells for Basti (if fit)
Mullett for McMahon (if fit)
Grima for Tippett (toss a coin - Grima is valuable but Tippo hasn't put a foot wrong)
Wood for Wright (unless Wright is being prepared for the role on Stevie J)
Agree with the first three suggestions, but given the conservative approach to selection I wouldn't be surprised to see it limited to Mullett for McMahon only. Don't see Wood being debuted.

It highlights both the value of depth and the changing form and fortunes of various players when we're positing Wright retaining his spot, and dropping Bastinac. As it is, I don't think Wellsy will get up, and I agree on your summary of the Grima/Tippett scenario. Also, is Spud now back in limbo-land?

I'm actually expecting the same Kimbo, but won't be surprised to see Grima brought back in, especially as he would be a great match up for MacIntosh, knowing his game so well (not that Tippett wouldn't do a good job).

I really hope Wells gets over this foot mystery. The talk about reviving a bit more of the run and gun play means his silk through the midfield is all the more important. Bloody frustrating.

With Wood, I just keep throwing his name up working on the completely logical notion that Brad is quietly following my posts on BF and will be unsuspectingly swayed by my wisdom. ;) TBH, would be happy to just have him listed in the emergencies.

interesting to note on the website werribee review, there is an emphasis on woods ability to tackle

may not potentially be up to scratch in the defensive areas that we are looking for in our forward line just yet?

obviously his attacking ability is highly rated

Good strategy! The collective BF unconscious is hard at work.

Perhaps we could also get Brett33 onto it. "Wood you bring Wood in Brad? He wood do really good, woodn't he?"

I liked Cam Mooney's comments on Drew's form, suggesting a lot had to do with the change in role and structures with Tarrant's absence. An assessment I have some time for, and which affirms my own sense that we are missing Tarrant much more than many realise. At this point in time, considering form, if we were to squeeze Wood into the forward line it would be at Drew (or Daw's) expense imo, if not in team selections, in terms of on-field structuring. From what I can gather Wood can help draw defenders up the ground as a more mobile third tall forward. He and Black work up the flanks and generally high up, while Daw/Drew stay back.

Bastinac to play a full game. We need the extra rotation. I know Nahas was good, but IMO he is unlikely to give us as much as another mid.
Super Robbie stays, we look so much more potent with him in the side. His defensive work up forward is top notch and his attack on the ball has been first class as well. It hasn't been coincidence that we have looked our most potent with Robbie playing.

Nahas a must to stay in. With Geelong's experienced back 6, the need for defensive pressure is even more then usual. I can see them try and isolate Majak with Mackie, in an attempt to run off him a bit as Johnson did for Freo, need LT and Nahas to make this harder for him. Hopefully Maj can hit the scoreboard, getting his couple, anymore then that is a serious bonus.

Wright holds his spot, great matchup for Stevie-J.

Doubt Wells will be back.

I rated Tippet but I imagine he will give way for Narni.

Wood deserves a crack very soon, but I doubt Scott will make it happen.

Don't care really as long as Bastinac is omitted.

He needs to lift intensity and hardness, or he doesn't play.

McMahon probably will be replaced, depending on fitness of others.

Like to see Wood or even Garner get a game if fit enough.
