IMO, Tippet is a good match up for Tomahawk

I think Sam has the potential to be better than Patch, I am not a fan of Patch, he has the ability to be a much better player than he is.Seriously you cant be serious? Patch Adams runs rings around Sam Wright in every category.
And I wont be happy if Tippett gets dropped either, he is just starting to establish himself and had his best game for us yesterday
You clearly don't know who Wright or Adams are.I think Sam has the potential to be better than Patch, I am not a fan of Patch, he has the ability to be a much better player than he is.
That's an incredibly harsh call. You clearly don't know who Wright or Adams are.
Patch gets every inch out of himself. Wright is the waste of potential.

Yeah I have no idea. You clearly don't know who Wright or Adams are.

Well you're not making any arguments, just stating that "you will see, he will be better than some other guy".Yeah I have no idea.![]()
His best was 2 years ago. Since then he's had 2 shoulders amputated and re-attached. He won't ever be the same again. If this is the best patch has to offer you obviously don't know, his best was two years ago, he is content now. Not playing to his potential.
The less time I spend on this comment the better. It's rubbish.Wright just doesn't get the chance, when he does he will show all you haters how good he is. He will be a better player than Patch.
I've got him in the victim of circumstance category. That's an incredibly harsh call.

That and his ****ing shoulders.I've got him in the victim of circumstance category.
Jack of all trades, master of none.
What are you on about? He had a shot to show something yesterday. And his previous 70 games. How is it rubbish? He hasn't gotten a shot to show anything.
That and his ******* shoulders.
I reckon he is one of the most natural players on our list and a bloke that has, as you allude to, been swung around the ground so much he hasn't settled into a role. I think he looks great as a defensive sweeper. He reads the play well, is a very good mark, kicks beautifully and goes when its his turn. Reckon if he hadn't the goal kicking yips he may have played a few more games and be less vilified.
That's just a confidence thing. His kicking is normally excellent.Has certainly been 'Hansened' somewhat.
I like what Wright brings to the table. Just not in front of goals.
And he was playing good until what ever took him out initially 2 years ago (I think maybe it was his shoulder?). Until then Brad brings him in for 1 game then drops him again. The kid has no confidence as can be seen in his goal kicking because he is dropped after one match. Yet last year we carry Patch for half a season and nobody bats an eye. You don't get form from one game, let him string a few together and just see. He had like 3 touches in the first quarter, ended up with 20 in total picking up 7 or 8 in the last quarter. Why? He was gaining confidence. He needs to play next week, he is a best 22 player, if he doesn't play next week I hope he leaves us at the end of year because he deserves to be playing. What are you on about? He had a shot to show something yesterday. And his previous 70 games.

You've lost the plot, mate. Wright and Patch were both carried last season for way too long. Wright played 16 games, he got plenty of chances but just wasn't that good. I rated Sam's game yesterday but I think he'll be a victim of the amount of depth we have in HBFs and don't see him becoming a forward. And he was playing good until what ever took him out initially 2 years ago (I think maybe it was his shoulder?). Everything you've written about Sam here is wrong, it's just plain wrong. Wright and Adams are actually quite similar players in their endeavour for the club and the injuries they've suffered. Difference is Patch can maintain an AFL sized body while Wright struggles to put on weight and therefore has trouble influencing contests like Leigh can.Agree 100%, Sam Wright is lazy and has had a handful of good games in that 70, and certainly doesnt bleed blue and white like Patch does. Patch might have a bad one here and there but goes hard most of th time given what he has endured with his shoulders over the last 2 years. Sam couldlearn a thing or 2 from him
That first part, I fail to see how this conclusion can be drawn. I don't recall ever questioning his effort.Agree 100%, Sam Wright is lazy and has had a handful of good games in that 70, and certainly doesnt bleed blue and white like Patch does. Second part, I'm sure that you realise that Wright has significant shoulder issues also, has had multiple operations which also happen to be the reason why he hasn't bulked up all that much. He simply hasn't been able to do the weight work required because he has been in rehab most preseasons. The bloke is hard at the ball and I fail to recall an occasion where he shirked a contest.
Theres some bizarre rewriting of history going on in relation to Wright, which seems to be based on his failure in front of goals last year.
Obviously we will have to agree to disagree because I just dont rate Sam Wright and I rate Patch Adams extremely highly. I dont think I am alone either
Wow.Wright was good yesterday but so was everyone else.
The position he can play well now is half back but we have better options available.
The guy has all the skills to make it but just doesn't go hard enough or want it enough.
Swallow has less talent than him but he has the right mind set
