So, our best team in a while includes SANFL player who has never played an AFL game, and leaves out someone who must be in the top 3 in the B&F at the moment (Gibbo)? Really?

It's about giving em something they didn't expect grasshopper.

We may even self-impose 2 subs on ourselves just to completely throw out Geelong's plans.

We could play 16 on the field.

That'd f*** em.

Or constuct a roof at Kardina Friday morning and play the game in perfect conditions.

They'd leave it open.

Chris Scott would go off at the ground staff as we come back from being seemingly out of it.

Would be decided by a dubious in the back as Lonergan falls in the back of Patch as he goes a bit weak in the knees.

Slots it from about 25 out slight angle.

Hardly... Just think when you're getting that much cheap ball, you need to hurt the opposition more.

End of.
And what I am trying to point out to you is that you have unrealistic expectations and if he actually did improve in all those areas he would be Dane Swan (i.e. a Top 10 player). I don't usually like to use statistics in an argument but seeing as you are pointing to specific stats where you think he needs to improve:

Code:
Stat Gibson Swan
Contested Possessions 5.8 8.4
Uncontested Possessions 21.8 15.9
DE% 74.40% 61.40%
Goal Assists 0.2 0.4
Inside 50's 3 3.8
Tackles 3.6 3.1
Goals 0.5 1.1
One percenters 1.1 1.1

Statistically the difference between the two is that Swan is slightly better in the stats you mentioned (in fact Sam is already better at tackles and even in 1% (couldn't find pressure act stats))

OK... I'm done

ArjenTheGreat I don't agree with your assessment of Gibson.

I just know where you stand on the matter because you have matched his consistency for getting a game with your own calling for him to be dropped.

I know, what place do statistics and facts have in a forum where bias and sh!tcanning reign supreme. How silly of me

That's mean OF.

You're implying I can't be reasoned with, which is suggesting I have some sort of pathological infactuation. I don't. I answered a question.

What about comparing him to Sidebottom, S & B Hill, Hannerbury... The sort of players who play his role at top 4 teams... Ie: where we want to be.

I don't know their stats, it's just the vibe I get.

In any case, I thought his kicking/decision making was good on the weekend and hope it continues under the heat which the cats will bring on Friday.

Been around in circles with you myself. Its just how I perceive the conversation with you on this topic.

Would stats change your mind?

I highly doubt it.

Thus it makes the topic of Gibson a bit redundant with you.

For me the reality is he's in the leadership group. He's not going to get dropped. It's not the selection committee's MO.

No excuses this week.

We've got Geelong coming off basically a 5 day break from Perth, without Steve Johnson.

They are still a very good side. Johnson has only played against us twice in the last 4 years with 13 and 28 touches. Would prefer Selwood to miss. Stokes also comes back in.

Very, very similar to Sidebottom and B. Hill, S. Hill is actually playing more inside this year and Dan Hannebury is also more of an inside player.

Liam anthony in, Bastinac out, and Jacobs as an emergency are the only changes l would like. Tough on Basti though, but has been rather poor this season overall.
