Folks, opinions are entitled to be expressed on here.

As long as they are expressed in a reasonable and non offensive manner then the poster should expect a reasonable and non offensive reply. Keep this in mind.

It absolutely does, yes.

His presence means a membership validated on entry, which directly affects the revenue and viability of the North Melbourne Football Club.

It also means greater matchday attendance that means more appeal to sponsors and media outlets.

Cheers.

I would add that those of us who were at Etihad for both the GC and Brisbane games would have personally witnessed clear evidence of Majak's improvement in certain areas in a period of just 2 weeks. For example, as many have noted, he got in Drew's space too often against GC. In the Brisbane game, you could see that he consciously made himself aware of where Drew was leading to and at times changed direction of his own leads. The majority of posters here know how much more you see at the ground as opposed to the TV. Most of us shut up when people who attended games that we didn't make some observations.

And I don't buy that it is a respectful opinion if you start off by saying he has made no improvement (just 100% wrong) and will be an embarrassment on Friday night. What part of that is respectful?

I have no problem with the very reasonable principle that everyone is entitled to their opinion and of course, it encourages discussion where opinions differ, which is a good thing. But I have no interest in discussing football with those who have no clue and feel the need to advertise the fact.

Why is everyone marching McMahon and to a lesser extent Wright straight back to the VFL?

Thought both contributed in their roles.
If Mullett comes back then someone who plays off half back makes way. I doubt we will drop Atley or McDonald.

Mullet hasn't been setting the world on fire and both of the inclusions did their job. I'd make him earn his spot back. (realise this won't happen)

Fair call.

Brad Scott said that was a mistake in the GC game, doubt they'll make that same mistake again. Needs to be a midfielder.

OK, I am going against the grain here.

Overall i have been somewhat disappointed in what Luke has brought to the table when compared to other high first rounders thus far.

Yes, he has proved to be good defensively, and has been reasonable in terms of cleanliness picking up the footy and marking it.

However, his kicking has been poor. Not average. Poor.

Even last week, under no pressure he grubbed a 20 meter kick to Adams. I think his efficiency has been boosted by handballs (which are pretty good i admit).

There is no doubt he is going to be a good to very good player. But i want to win on Friday night, and think we are a better chance of doing that with Spud, Wright or Lose playing down back.

If Luke plays, i would like it to be as the sub, where he can come on as a Mid in the last quarter and run himself ragged trying to win the footy.

There i have said it (and it feels dirty (and not in a good way)).

His kicking hasn't been exemplary, but IMO has been better than poor.

He won't be sub again.

Well yes, if they plan on playing him in the midfield then he could be sub. I just can't see them making him the sub again. I wouldn't be against bringing in someone like Jacobs to fill that role.

Just out of curiosity, what other first rounders from last years draft are you comparing Luke to?

agree. he's had 8 games under his belt as far and absolutely is the future, and he's had a taste of what it is like.
for now, spud should play, but when he probably retires then mcdonald has his place again.

get back to dominating footy in the vfl.

People are forgetting what McDonald brings defensively.

One of the smartest young players I have seen in a long time.

I've said before Luke Mac's kicking hasn't been that flash, but he'll get better. He doesn't have as much time to release in the AFL.
He's hit some nice passes then some average ones. U could say the same about McKenzie too.
I wouldn't be dropping Luke just yet. He might need a spell soon though because of fatigue.

this part of his game has been a real surprise, he really has shown maturity in his pressure acts as well as man on man defence.

i just gotta lean towards firrito because his form thus far has been pretty good, which when he is handy because of his strength and experience. and the fades are less frequent.

remember that 8 games of 8 in a side contesting top 4 in your first year is not something you see regularly, itll benefit us to give him a few weeks rest in a long season

Aish
Kolajasny (however you spell it)
Kelly (fck this one hurts)

And to a lesser degree Dunstan and Billings

The boys are quick to lay the boot into Basti eh. The bloke works as hard as anyone. Just because he isn't racking up the stats doesn't mean he's not doing a job. It'll come.

I don't think he has been as bad as some think but I'd like to know what job you think he did against the Gold Coast?
