Everyone saying Arnott and Mcdonough should be dropped after one game are crazy...Its the easiest way to knock all the little confidence they probably have out of them. They need a chunk of games (say 3-4), to get a bit of continuity and confidence.

Players such as Morris, Lloyd, Batchelor, Grigg and Gordon to a lesser extent (only played two full games) are the one that should make way for others.

But for everyone who is asking for Arnott and McDonough to be dropped...don't worry Hardwick will no doubt take the soft option and drop them i'm sure,

Little point having a team full of talent if you've got 95% of them unwilling to put their head over the ball when they need to win a contest. Melbourne beat us last night not because they were more talented but because when it came to the crunch they were more prepared to take the hits and put the heads over the ball and win the contests. We on the other hand were more concerned with getting the easy touches and looking good.

You talk about not accepting mediocrity, but seem to be happy to continue to reward those that pick and choose when they go and when they don't. At the end of the day I'd much rather see us losing with the players walking off the ground having given their all instead of seeing them walking off having picked when they would and wouldn't put their heads over the footy.

Among the things that annoy me the most is when five players watch an opposition player sprint in between and past them. Or the good old sliding their arms down a person's body in an attempt to "tackle". Our players do not appear to the opposition as tough nuts, and I can see why. This is why teams like Collingwood and North Melbourne keep winning against us, because they do not buckle out of fear like they do with other teams no matter how much we are winning by during the game (e.g. North in 2014).

I feel as though with a bit of physical and mental hardness + playing players in position, we could become a solid side

Wouldn't have picked me say this before, but I am glad to see Vickery come back into the side should he be picked this week. I would think he is happy to be back in senior football (should he be picked) and realises that he needs to work his way back into the best 22 if he wants to continue playing here.
