When talking about Trengove coming back and how his influence on the side could be compared to Wines, Hinkley said in his press conference: "We hope they all bring something to the team. That's the key thing. We want them all when they come in to bring something to the team. If Paddy (Ryder) comes back into the team, or Jackson (Trengove) comes back into the team or one of the (he was going to say fringe players here)...Andrew Moore or Kane Mitchell who played at the Magpies. Brendon Ah Chee. Whenever you bring someone into the team you want them all to have an influence so that's important."

So any changes you would think are going to come from those five players, if there are to be any.

In Ryder achee(a f***ing must and give him a full game and dont drop him for a while)
Out young amon.....

i wish we could drop jasper he would be my first out...but i have given up on that now

sub: hartlett

I think it will be Paddy for Stewart because we know Paddy can go forward. It is a harsh call on Stewart and I don't believe it is the correct call still think our best structure has one genuine Ruck so would do a straight swap for Lobbe.

I don't know who he'd replace but I can see Moore coming in this week. It seems to fit our selection pattern (or lack of) this year

Please please please please ryder back this week the importance of him in this side for this week especially is massive. We need a 3 tall foreard line no ifs or buts the main reason is a man named harry taylor. Bombers had carlisle and daniher as their talls occupied by rivers and Lonergan. Guess who had 10 marks and 33 possesions harry taylor. A few years ago we came in short vs an essendon game and hooker cleaned us up pretty sure he got votes aswell. Last time we played idk who went to him but he only had 4 possesions and we won by 40 last week it was about shutting down murphy and wood this week its about shutting down taylor. Further this week is an oppoturnity for an 80 hitout+ game from our rucks combined. Their rucks are not rated at all in blicavs and stanley. Lobbe usually has a day out against them if both our rucks r in look out

In:ryder
Out: stewart (unlucky just because he was his original replacement) young could go out aswell making stewart sub

Out -
S Gray
Young

In-
Ah Chee
Ryder
Ken's watched Lord Of The Rings 57 times and thinks it's a documentary. SGray is not getting dropped.

Young was ok gets sub again next week. Would love Ah Chee in but he gets to wait his turn.

I wonder if Jonas is safe? Maybe Ken can cover his spot with Paddy and Westoff and leave Stewart where he is?

Too much in love with Clurey at present to drop him. Could have walked to the West Coast be guaranteed an easy ride into the side possibly for more money than he would get here rather than take the hard option and fight for his spot here. For three games he looks good.

We are two games short of the bye, so a massive no to rushing anyone back early. That being said if Ryder is fit, he comes in. Not so sure about Trengove. Sam Gray stays but I think Young gets demoted.

Out: Young, Stewart
In: Ah Chee/Moore, Ryder
S.Gray 9 disposals in 4 quarters, Young 8 in 1 quarter. Young is far more cleaner with the ball.
Ryder maybe not ready this week. I would go Moore or Ah Chee for S.Gray - Ollie needs some help in the packs.

I bet this is the week that Sam Gray gets dropped after he actually looked like an AFL footballer for the first time this week, after being retained after two games where he looked every bit an out of his depth SANFL footballer. That would just be typical of our selections this year.

Two weeks ago, Ah Chee gets the following stats: 25 disposals, 4 marks, 1 tackle, 3 clearances, 5 inside 50s and 1 rebound 50. He doesn't play the next week due to a niggle, then comes in and has an awesome game of 30 disposals, 8 marks, 4 tackles, 7 clearances and 9 inside 50s.

Meanwhile at the same time, Moore has 25 disposals, 2 tackles, 6 clearances, 2 inside 50s, 2 rebound 50s and a goal two weeks ago. Then backs it up with 24 disposals, 5 marks, 5 tackles, 10 clearances, 5 inside 50s and 1 rebound 50 the following week, before finishing with 25 disposals, 7 marks, 3 tackles, 3 clearances, 4 inside 50s and a goal.

I guess it all depends on what you think the team is looking for. Personally I'd still be playing Moore over Ah Chee if there is going to be a change, only because you need to reward consistency of performance.

If Ryder is fit, he comes in and Stewart goes out. Other than that, I'm not sure there will be any other changes. Structure doesn't need to change much either with Ryder coming in for Stewart. Not as if we will lose any run from it.

True but we lose an extra pair of hands for the spilled ball in the forward line which I think we need too, including a player that handballs and kicks well, which our mids don't do so well consistently.

Yeah, but his 9 possessions and limited tackles suggest he's still not doing enough. Offers very little in my opinion.

out Gray Amon

in Ryder Mitchell
These will probably be the changes despite the outrage Mitchell being picked over Arch or Moore would bring, based on stats it looks like Mitch played just as big a part on the result as the other 2.

I liked Amons first half but he did drop off quite a bit, I just love his vision & left kick to pinpoint the right option will be a ripper for us in the coming years.

Yeah, if you enlarge the gif, you can clearly see Selwood's fingers at work, digging into Howlett's right eye-socket

It's a shame there was no outcry from Darce, Richo and Lingy. Without the momentum which they bring to any untoward incident, it just makes easier for the AFL sorry.. the independent MRP to overlook it or tell us it never happened.

Bet it doesn't even get cited.
Didn't even get highlighted on game day & more than likely won't get a mention on the SFS, Selwoods an AFL golden boy even if he did eye gouge there wouldn't be any talk of it unless he drew blood like Judd did.

I think people are opting for ah chee because at AFL he seems to offer more up forward
That being said my changes would be
Out young and gray
In Ryder moore

In: Ah Chee, Ryder
Out: Gray, Stewart

Play Arch out of a forward pocket for most of the day. He's as good a tackler as we've got and will offer far more offensively and around the ground than Gray.

A straight swap Stewart for Ryder is the obvious change if Paddy's fit.

If Trengove's fit I'd drop Jonas before Cluery. Tommy was a bit better yesterday but he's not the same beast one on one we know he can be.

No surprise. They will completely overlook incidents for some players. But if one of the unchosen had done it there would be demands for a Royal Commission.

Ken seems to have very little faith in the fitness of Amon and Ah Chee. Surely if they are being picked then they are expected to run out a full game if required, as an early injury could mean they are subbed in immediately or on the flip side ensure that they can't be subbed off.

I just think that Ken should back them a bit more, especially when we were running all over Melbourne; let them see what it takes to run out a full game of AFL. If they fade badly, then drop them next week. I thought Am on was meant to be a running machine anyway, let's allow him to push himself.

Very excited about both these guys and think they can overtake Young and Moore by the end of the year to claim the vacancies left by Cornes and Polec.

Amon played 50% TOG, his result of 13 touches and 5 clearances, 3 tackles and a goal assist is damn good for someone at this stage of their career. Tom Boyd had 4 useless disposals for 55% TOG, and Toby Mclean (close enough comparison to Amon) had 5 touches (no tackles, no clearances) in 33% TOG.

I thought part or the reason why we blew the Bulldogs out in the 4th was because we had another big body (Young) in the guts. Before then we were getting reamed in contested possessions.

I 100% believe that we are missing a big body in the middle. Just having Moore/Young/Ah Chee there provides some blockage to release some other MIDs.

Anyhow I said in the game thread that the standard is kind of different for everyone. Gray's 9 possession game is the best of his AFL career but if it was Wingard or Monfries that had that game then it would be considered an awful game. Is it that we do not expect much of Gray?

Any how

OUT: Ryder, SGray
IN: Stewart, Ah Chee/Moore

Harsh on Stewart but we need to make it work with Ryder in there.

Amon is too important to drop right now. The closest replacement we have to Polec, and we do need outside runners.
