You might not have to worry about Joel Selwood next week after he pressed his fingers into Ben Howlett's eye late in the game vs Essendon

The Channel 7 commentators didn't say anything about it afterwards. My guess is the AFL will try to sweep this under the rug like they usually do whenever one of their golden boys does something untoward.

I've seen players receive fines and suspensions for much much less than this.
I believe this was swept under the table!?

So if Ryders fit we are going to bring him in for Stewart and go back to the dysfunctional forward line which kicked basically zero goals for 4 weeks. Not sure why Lobbe isn't on the chopping block with his lack of impact this season. It is known that Ryder plays better as a solo ruck.

Would like to see Moore back in, we look too small. I don't think it's fair to drop young because of that performance but I'm sure he will be.

Sam Gray gets another week obviously but in the end I think we have to bring Neade in for him don't we

There is nothing that Stewart has done in the past fortnight that Ryder can't do. If Ryder is fit, he comes straight in. The forward line was dysfunctional for a multitude of reasons; to blame it solely on Ryder is ridiculous.

As for Lobbe, you are severely underrating the work he does when the ball hits the deck. The amount of tackles he lays does not go unnoticed internally for sure. In that 4th quarter on Saturday he took the team on his back and said "follow me." Wingard was the star but Lobbe was brilliant.

As for the Sam Gray/Jake Neade debate, what has Neade done at SANFL level recently to warrant him getting a spot in the AFL side? For every 2-3 goal game of his, he has 3 games where he is flat out pathetic. I'm no Gray fan, but he shouldn't be dropped for Neade this week. If he were to come out of the side, I'd rather Aaron Young take his spot, where Young can rotate a little bit more through the middle as an inside mid. Then put Arch as the sub.

Out: Sam Gray
In: Andrew Moore or Brendan Ah Chee.

they'll give Ryder another week on the sidelines to fully recover.

Keep Amon in the team, he'll be a 200 game player and not sure what he'll achieve going back to the SANFL unless he is struggling.

If Shaw goes on the long term injury list

“The early estimate is 6-8 weeks, although we’re hoping he can pull through sooner than that,” Burgess said.
Groin injury for Shaw. Krak to be upgraded again and a chance for selection?
Also on our injury list "Jared Polec – foot (5-7 weeks)" - Still a chance this season then?

Currently as forwards, Stewart > Ryder

However long term Ryder needs to gel with the team as potentially, Ryder >>>>>>> Stewart

Short term Ryder pain was always going to happen, plonking key forwards in teams especially with no pre-season games takes time. Full confidence Ryder will be our long term FF and Lobbe will be able to maintain his standards with him in the team. Will just take a breaking in period.

Also. If Stewart is to play forward at the AFL level, please, please play him there at the Sanfl level.

Well yeah, his 1%'s at the game were way ahead of gold pass Hartlett.

Oh dear. Is that the same 'gold pass Hartlett' who had 20 disposals to Sam's 9, 9 contested possessions to Sam's 6 and 5 tackles to Sam's 3?

But then again, Sam Gray did have a massive 3 one percenters, compared to Hamish's paltry tally of ... 3 one percenters. Hmm.

Hartlett has played 100 games now..... and been in the game 7 seasons...

sam has played? How many seasons?

And he's a good player. What's your point

He can do better, but he is still best 18
My point hartlett is better than a good player.....

its output vs ability.....if you are going to discuss games hartlett v sam gray

Why is impey loved and gray hated....?

Why does hartlett get stood up for when kane mitchell could have had the exact same game and everyone wants his head?

Fairness is the key when judging players....

What is happening in this thread right now?

I've seen Sam Gray preferred to Broadbent and Krakouer, now I've seen him preferred to Hamish Hartlett. Sam'll be captain by the end of the year at this rate :drunk:

In what world can Kane Mitchell have the same game as Hartlett?

Impey is bigger, faster, stronger and a far better defender than Gray. Plus his scope for improvement in not even in the same ballpark.

Thats not what i am saying....i am just saying its not a fair fight between gray and hartlett....

Hartlett is obviously head and shoulders above gray.

I was talking about PowerBaz's ridiculous comment, not anything that you posted.

So you're taking the "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" approach to selection?
