I didn't see Hoon play last week but damn he's wasted the footy a few times by disposal this year! Surely Ah Chee is ahead of Moore in the pecking order? Has performed better than him close to every game this year.

Yeah, Colquoun has done nothing to suggest he's in any sort of readiness to handle the step up from SANFL to AFL. Plenty of touches, but mostly uncontested and plenty of hospital balls.

A lot of the selection appears to have gone the way of "what was our best team of last year?" and that player has been selected to see if they sink or swim. Why else was O'Shea selected when he had no SANFL form to back it up? Some of the players still seem to be well down the pecking order despite the assurance having been given that selections would go to the deserving. Much as I think Amon is a good player, the most deserving player of elevation from the SANFL this year is Ah Chee, and not just to sub.

We're playing Sydney after the bye. Whoever comes in needs to get at least two games to get up to speed in the AFL so we can smash those ****s like they so richly deserve. But we also need to know who is going to stand up when the heat is in the kitchen. That's why I'd be dropping S.Gray and Amon, putting Young in Gray's place and letting Moore and Ah Chee go head to head for the next two games. Whoever performs better stays in the side for the remainder of the year unless they have a drop off in form. Inside mids who can run and spread like Wines are worth their weight in gold, so why wouldn't you play another one?

And if both of them perform (and by perform I mean not a Sam Gray/Aaron Young 'Let's make compensation for them because of x/y/z' that seems to prevail on this board, but REALLY perform to the point where you couldn't even contemplate their name being mentioned as an out), then we play both and drop whoever was under-performing.

Then next week, Stewart out for Ryder (I don't care how good his game is, Stewart will only ever be a stop gap depth player for us, and that's ok) and Clurey out for Trengove.

No ****ing passengers on this team. We're here to win games and kick ass.

I've also adjusted who I'd drop, after looking at the lineup I'm going:

IN: Mitchell (sub), Moore
OUT: Amon, Stewart.

S Gray keeps Neade out of the team, and to correct the major issues we are having in midfield due to our reliance on only a couple of players, Moore replaces P Stewart

Clurey survives due to matchups, but needs to play a hell of a lot better than his first 3 qtrs last week.

Disagree that Clurey was that bad. His first was a little poor but he took some strong marks and looked really good. Provided some good run out of the backline as well.

No way Mitchell comes in over Ah Chee or Moore. S Gray is the only small we need.

In my opinion he was horrible terrible disposal, panicky decisions. His last quarter was 1000x better. But hey we all see it differently. I would play O'Shea ahead of him everyday of the week, but given the height of the Cats forward half Clurey would be the better option this week.

Agreed. However I will be the first to cheer him if he does get a recall so soon. Committed unerringly to his rehab by all reports and I too think he will become a player for us so the sooner we get games under his belt the better.
