Each to their own but in my opinion Sam Gray is developing into a very solid AFL footballer. He needs a bit more polish when he finishes off but he is no orphan.

The only other player I'd like to see in the side is Doogie.

Not convinced with Ah Chee at all. Finished the second half well but he has struggled to be consistent at AFL level and not sure he has the ability to be consistent.

Thinking more about the last two weeks, Monfries just has to be an in for this game. Our efficiency in the front half has been practically diabolical and part of the reason for that is playing too many players who are not natural forwards or natural goal kickers (Impey, S.Gary, Ah Chee) as makeshift forwards.

I'm happy to see Amon stay in the side. He is bloody quick when he puts the foot down.

Would love Monfries in the team and go straight to Mackie and get into his head like he did to Heath Shaw in the 2013 elimination final.

In Monfries

Out S Gray

I wouldnt say I am convinced, he needs to string to together consistently to convince us all, but from what I have seen this year in the SANFL, he is a mile above that standard and deserves his shot. His game on Sunday was very good IMO. It took a while for him to come on ground, then he took the rest of the qrtr to get on pace, but once he got involved he showed he is a totally different Ah Chee to last year. Clearly AFL standard IMO, and will only get better. But he needs to keep it going so he can nail his spot.

Monfries has been great for our club but I think we are sacrificing the future by playing him in the AFL, I'd rather see him taking a quasi development role in the SANFL with the likes of AJ, Palmer et al. I don't think he is good enough to make a material difference to our side.

Happy to be proven wrong, just my thoughts.

Yeah I was pretty critical of him in first half but he deserves another crack.

If you want Palmer to play ahead of Monfries fair enough. Johnson though needs to lift after putting in a poor display vs Sturt.

Hope he goes ok because i get the feeling this season could be his last chance to prove he can consistently play at this level.

Without a doubt, he'd need an exceptional year anyway to stay on the list. I'm sure he is well aware.

He is closer to 25 than 21.

Do you think AJ is the type of player that would perform better at AFL than SANFL level? Faster game etc

Based on the 1 game he's played at AFL level I'd say yes.

He is clearly rated highly by the selectors, an exciting prospect.

Ah Chee can kick straight for goal.

A skill absent in most AFL players including the Power.

Look at the misses this year even when 20 metres clear.

I see better kicking in amateurs (120 games in the last 5 years)
