Changes vs Geelong

I was quietly confident we might get up against the Cats on Thursday night. After the news broke Chad was out, I honestly think that our chances have basically disappeared.

I can only hope that the rest of the team start to get in the frame of mind that they have to give 110% now instead of 100% with Chad out.

With Zac Smith doing well in the ruck this year and Wingard out I am not giving us much chance and have changed my tips. I reckon the only change we need to make is Wingard out and Monfries in. Sam Gray to play a lot more in the midfield this week.

I'm strangely comfortable with losing Chad.

Not ideal but I think we have the depth to cover.
Obviously not at the same level as Chad but enough to maintain our strengths.

Yeah, it's just as well we have an entire forward line full of midfielders masquerading as forwards. Plenty of options to take Chad's spot in the midfield rotation.

Winning this game isn't the be all and end all but by crikey I am sick of losing to this side. To rub it in they are bringing out the 10 year anniversary of the flag against us. It's time our players stand up in big game in front of a national stand alone audience. I would like to see Aidyn Johnson come in for Chad.

This can go different ways.
Wingard makes our midfield much more dangerous. But the other guys have had time to prepare for this game and lift in his absence.
Monfries is the only replacement.
If boak brings his kicking boots and can step up into Chad's running midfielder role, and monfries slots in as the hard running high half forward we lose very little in output (but quite a bit in flexibility). Fingers crossed.

Then Gus, Arch and S Gary have 2 weeks to cement their high half forward role until Chad comes back in and pushes one of them out.
