Well we have been lucky with lack of injuries thus far and we knew it was inevitable that we would experience them at some stage.

But for the first time in a long time we have real selection dilemma's. I'm excited because we have a plethora of players that can come in and play a damaging game for us. (having said that, I just thought that we have had selection dilemmas in the past, but it was just that the dilemma was the selection committee kept replacing like for nonlike. )

I am quietly confident (just before I am rocking in a ball on Friday) that we can get this done, Wingard or no Wingard. It will definitely show us what the rest of the season will hold for us.

They won't do it. I reckon Impey will get some more time in the middle, maybe even a defensive job on one of the big two. Would he have the tank?

impey doesnt have the instinct to play as a genuine midfielder, i think his best position is using his speed to play as a defensive forward and keep the ball in. Most probably have him on Touhy to nullify his run out of defence.

Monfries in the guy that will kick 3 goals from 5 disposals and people under estimate how good a lead-up player he is for his size, I think if Dixon & Monfires are the 2 leadup players then you will create a lot of one-on-one contests as Monfries has the brains to lead to the right areas and draw an opponent even if Dixon doesnt

You've really just used "instinct" as blanket way of saying Impey can't play midfield. What "instinct" does he lack? I could accept "he doesn't have the engine", but "he doesn't have the instinct"? He's a footballer who has speed, good evasiveness, and a great defensive side to his game. What "instincts" does he lack?

I watched Young on Saturday and he didn't show any obvious signs of carrying an injury. Was continually in the thick of the play especially helping out down back so looked like he was playing a midfield role. His ability to dish off in a tackle might be useful against a Geelong side still smarting over negative comments on its contested play.

He's probably suffered more from Dixon and Gray becoming the forward line focal points and his being forced out wide into the starvation alley of the traditional opportunist HFF. More time around the ball picking up some of the slack with Wingard being out could help his game.

Young for Wingard fits the no-risk approach of our coaching group. It doesn't surprise me.

It's a real shame for Gus, I would have thought he would have been the obvious choice. If Young is selected over him, which seems likely, does this mean the end of the road for Gus?

Young played last week in the SNAFL too after the trip to Shanghai and back. Would prefer someone fresher in, and why not Gus?

He's racked up possessions but they've been super cheap, incredibly ineffective touches from chip chip in the backline play. And even a bunch of them he's turned over.
How he was rated in our best on the weekend is beyond me, he was pure and simple kick chasing and had no impact on the game.

People need to get over this Frampton stuff, kids still got a future but he's absolutely 100% not ready yet.
