People have a bloody warped perception of what Hayes or Frampton would be capable of at AFL level.

Hayes isn't physically ready.

If Frampton truly isn't after 4 years on the list he never will be. Which begs the question, why are we hanging onto him anyway?

Besides, most people see Frampton plus leaving our structures in place for longer (Howard-D, Dixon-F, Westhoff-U) - even if he personally is no more effective than the current platoon system - as at least preferable to the butterfly effect cruddery that robbing Peter to pay Paul is having currently.

No-one's expecting him to be the next Dean Cox or even the next Marcus Seaby, but if Frampton comes in and holds his own that's purely a bonus above and beyond.

When Trengove rucked all Ken expected was a contest at the bounce and then to hunt the loose ball. Frampton is really mobile and could do that. And at 200cm he would likely win more hit outs. He's good around the ground, can mark and will hand out some rough stuff.

It's just confusing. His SANFL numbers are sound, he's got the height, he's got the aggression, yet he's being talked down by the club and some here as if he's an undersized Brent Renouf.

Clurey has been awesome for us for over a season now, calls for him to be dropped are premature. He probably isn’t up to leading the defence in Howard’s absence but that’s a structural issue easily fixed, again, if the coaches box can swallow its pride on the ruck crisis.

Given the language that he and Bassett are using he's probably been sold a narrative from the data warehouse they're sticking to.
