I read it as Fyfe thinks he can play but Ross + medicos won't risk him.

They shouldn't risk him. Last thing is for Fyfe to get another hamstring issues which will affect preseason and soft tissue injuries can become chronic if reinjured after being rush backed

If there is any danger of reinjury, our S&C guys will make him play, that's what they do.

Oh. Except for Bennell where they are deliberately stalling his career.

Seems like Ballas and Matera are our only 2 available forward pockets. Unless you wanna throw Nyhuis up there. Add Tabs, Cox and McCarthy and we have a semi decent forward structure with the 6th bloke a rotating mid.

They put in Kersten because they did t feel Duman could compete with Cruzer.

Unfortunately Blues pulled Cruzer following the late change

This was from Hale

Does kersten get dropped for Banfield? Or is banfield a straight swap for the injured Walters?

He is a good kid. Only a teenager. I don't expect him to run out 100% of the game. He will be rotated as a forward and on the bench
Unlike you to go spouting 'facts' like that

Get them in: After six games on the sidelines, Nat Fyfe is a slim chance to be back from his hamstring strain for a showdown with Geelong. Tagger Bailey Banfield was left out against Carlton for team balance but is likely to return for a job on a star Cats onballer.

Under the pump: The Dockers are unlikely to make many changes to a winning side but Stefan Giro or Ryan Nyhuis could make way if others return from injury.

Medical room: Key defender Joel Hamling (calf) might be a chance to return, while doubt surrounds Harley Bennell (calf) and Aaron Sandilands' (calf) availability.

Verdict: Fyfe is doubtful, Banfield will probably be recalled and Brandon Matera would have to be a chance to return to replace injured star Michael Walters (hamstring). – Travis King

Just throw our players with injury clouds in cotton wool

No point risking anything

Can't finish any higher and we can only realistically drop one spot

Throw the kids in the deep end against opposition desperate to make an impact come finals and see how they fare

Would be a reasonable thing to do I think. Watching the normal brigade use the inevitable thumpings as ammo in the ditch Lyon campaign will also provide some additional entertainment leading into the bye week and finals so win win really.

Michael Walters could be a chance to play this weekend after scans revealed the Freo midfielder’s hamstring was not torn as initially suspected after Freo’s win against Carlton on Sunday.

Walters will receive treatment for a lower buttock injury this week in the hope he will respond well enough to face Geelong on Saturday.

Senior physiotherapist Dr Jeff Boyle said Walters would be monitored closely throughout the week.

“At the moment we have an open mind with Michael and will see how he responds during the week,” Boyle said.

Luke Ryan will also be assessed throughout the week due to a hamstring injury sustained in Sunday’s win against the Blues. The defender played out the game on Sunday but pulled up sore on Sunday morning.

“Luke had some tightness in the first quarter but was able to play through and complete the game entirely," Boyle said.

In positive news Nat Fyfe is set to return to the action this weekend after being listed as a test. Fyfe has missed six games after injuring his hamstring in Freo’s round 15 clash against the Lions.

“Nat has still got to get through his football training this week. There will be a final training session on Thursday, so if he gets through that okay he’ll be free to play,” Boyle said.

Ok so assuming Walters and Ryan pull up.

Nyhuis - Kersten - Ryan
Wilson - APearce - Duman
Langdon - Neale - B Hill
Walters - Cox - Grey
Ballas - Tabs - McCarthy

Darcy - Fyfe - Mundy

Cerra - Banfield - Switta - Sherro

Out: Johnson
In: Fyfe - Banfield
Out: Johnson - Giro?

Pretty harsh on Giro - Maybe Cerra needs a rest.
