Hinkley has done plenty wrong but he's right about Hayes. Needs to have more impact around the ground. Winning the ruck mean f**k all at AFL level, it's the rucks that impact around the ground that really matter.
So you think Hayes is an asset in the team? No, hitouts to advantage are massive.
Our players haven't had a competent ruck to rove to since Ryder

They are massive but they don’t make up for not contributing around the ground. No, hitouts to advantage are massive.

Bonner always seems to have a stinker coming back from injury. Maybe the policy with him should be always at least 1 game in the sanfl before back in the A grade.Biggest thing for me on the weekend was how unprepared Bonner was.
Like I get he is coming off a month long injury but is there no onus to go I'm not ready and get some reps in the seconds?
Unfortunately they're a much better team this year than 2021.After watching them beat Carlton it won't surprise me if they win it this year.
We've lost to them at home more than we've beaten them in the Hinkley era. Our recent record had been better thanks to them choking in finals though.Port always beat Geelong at home.

You left out "in qualifying finals".Port always beat Geelong at home.

Just putting it out there - another Hinkley extension may actually destroy the club. He would then hold the distinction of saving the club, and then destroying it, which is a rare talent. If only...
It'll be seen as evidence that Hinkley has everyone back on the right track and will be used to justify giving him a contract extension.
We aren't going to play younger players until finals is mathematically impossible. At least another week, possibly more of gaslighting by the club, that Ken could still get us there (by playing banged up older players who won't be around for our next flag attempt).I don't really get the calls to drop Mead, this is the time to play our youngsters.
Mead, Burgoyne, Georgiades, Bergman should be locks for the rest of the year. Schofield, maybe Sinn if he gets fit should also get a run.
I'd be playing Hays purely to get his trade value up.
Defenestration. If I was Sam Hayes I'd throw Hinkley out of a window
Might as well roll the dice, there are coaches whose careers need saving.Sounds like they are seriously considering bringing in Jones, Fantasia and Teakle to bolster the forward line.
