Do people complaining about our defenders remember they were close to league best before Chad Cornes stepped in?

99% of our problems stem from coaching.

Chad's a poor coach (and a culture disaster for the club) but our defense has been poo since the 6-6-6 rules made it harder to overload the backline (though Ken still tries to pick 8 HBF'ers every week). Our defense was only 'good', by sacrificing further up the ground. Now we can't/don't do that as much it's shown up. Also add in 2 - 3 years ago McKenzie and Jonas weren't at the age they should be backups or retired given their form drop offs. We're still playing them due to our list managers not drafting / trading in KPD's (195cm+) other than the luck we had with Aliir falling in our lap. Our defense sucks now due to multiple factors, of which coaching is only one.

Our defence is the 4th best in the comp. Given how badly people on here rate our defenders (too old, too short, too slow, too unskilled etc), Chad must be a genius to keep our defence performing that well in the comp.

I’m still not sure of the logic regarding his treatment.

When they traded out Ladhams for magic beans, I assumed it was because they considered Hayes to finally be ready to ride shotgun with a fading Lycett -- after all, he did just win the Maggies B&F and has been on the list since 2017.
