Our younger players are starting to look weary. Watts, Gysberts, Nicholson, Tappscott and a few others are just starting to fall off the pace a little. Definitely due to there youth(and possibly the Darwin heat), but I feel a few need a rest.

IN

Jurrah - automatic inclusion if over the bug
Evans - BOG last game at Casey, deserves another crack
Blease - deserves a full game and a like for like replacement for Nicholson

OUT

Gysberts - looking weary. Maybe a week off to freshen the legs
Bate - just not up to AFL standard, and Jurrah replaces him
Nicholson - like his pace, but has strung a few ordinary games together

Dunn gets another chance as the bigger bodies will be needed against the Cats. Also Bennell stays in the team as sub. Small forwards tend to worry the Cats, I'd let him loose in the F50 in the 2nd half. However, could be replaced if Scully is fit(which is a 50/50 at this stage and feel the club will give him and Davey 1 more week each)

In: Davey (forward line only please), Jurrah, MacDonald, Scully

Out: Nicholson (been down the past two, needs a break), Bate, Bennell (trade to West Coast or Freo), Strauss (hasnt been bad but needs a break)

Dunn keeps his place, i think we look better up forward when he is in the team.

Green, deserves to be dropped, not just for his selfish soft performance against the Hawks but his year in general has been pathetic. Wont happen though.

Rivers, back to his worst the past couple, pure garbage, has played some good games this season so he wont be dropped. If he goes to JPod like he did last year we are ****ed. Id rather JMac in the side.

Gysberts, played well in his debut game at KP and you need plenty of mids when taking on Geelong. Keeps his place on purely these reasons alone, needs to lift.

Would like to see Cook get a game, not sure this is the right game for him though, maybe next week against a weaker Carlton backline.

Blease needs a couple of full games by years end, like Cook though, not sure we should throw him in the deep end with this game though.

Considering we were repeatedly smashed in the clearances and general midfield battle aganist the Hawks, I say boosting our midfield is a huge factor with selection.

If Davey and Scully are fit - chuck them straight in (Davey as sub perhaps?).

Maybe even a Jetta to just tackle and harass as much as he can.

One thing's for sure - if we don't at least get close to winning the midfield battle, we're in for another flogging.

I've got nothing against Strauss, but Bartram is better. When Strauss starts tearing it apart at VFL level, then he can start ahead of a fit Bartram.

In: Bartram, Jurrah, Scully, Macdonald
Out: Strauss, Bennell, Gysberts, Bate

Macdonald into the back half, Nicholson on a wing.

Apologies to Bate.

Who would have thought you would choose Bartram ahead of Strauss? Perish the thought!! ;)

Pretty happy with the other 3 changes you've listed though.

interchange at this stage is mckenzie, bate, petterd and martin

surely if the sub had to come from those 4 you would think its mckenzie?

bit suprised if that's the case, could be for a rest though and he normally starts well anyway so should have no problem impacting the game from the first minute he's in

Epic rage if the sub is anyone other than Bate from those 4. Three are essential members of our team, one is a fringe player on borrowed time. Pick the odd one out!

I have a dirty, dirty feeling they will go with Petterd as the sub as he can play more than just a plodding HFF role and can, therefore, have more impact as the sub. I hope like hell I'm wrong but you can put it past our club.

Like the "pick the sub" game above as well, could be good!

Then the match committee would win hands down, they seem to pluck a sub for each game out of a hat.

Official team:

B. Strauss Frawley Jones
HB. Garland Rivers Nicholson
C. Trengove Gysberts Sylvia
HF. Dunn Watts Howe
F. Green Jurrah Maric
R. Jamar Moloney Tapscott
I.C. Bate MacKenzie Petterd Martin

How I would love to see them line-up:

B. Strauss Frawley Tapscott
HB. Nicholson Rivers Garland
C. Jones Moloney Trengove
HF. Sylvia Watts Howe
F. Jurrah Jamar Maric
R. Martin MacKenzie Gysberts
I/C. Petterd Green Dunn Bate

Think we might be a bit light on in terms of on-ballers this week. If we are going to be a powerhouse I think we need to draft some more onballers to rotate through the middle.
