In: Hine, McMahon
Out: Mullet, Jacobs

Mullet is not a very good field kick at this time. Don't give a crap if he can nail them at training, struggles in game.

Anthony isn't the best sub option either. His kicking was shit house to.

Ziebell has to talk to Cunners about getting the ball, looking for an option for the hand, not just throw her on the boot every single time.

Sidebottoms running killllled us today. He was fantastic pulling Atley up the ground, then charge the other way.

I wish people would add some realism and balance when they post.
Dont post what you want to happen without giving reason. You look like a silly person.

Jacobs is a near on certainty to be screwed off. There was a moment in the second or fourth quarter were Goldsack strolled out of defence from a soft insipid effort from Jacobs to provide something, anything. He did the same thing against Geelong in the NAB Cup. Sorry Im not a Jacobs hater but thats twice he hasnt had a go and its out the door to Weribee mate. If you arent going to influence the opponent in a contest then hold them up or stand your ground harrass dont ******* drop you head

All the players you mentioned were poor and young but worse than Collingwood's players who are younger.

But seriously I watched Jacobs off the ball and he was not within 20m of Harry O when he was on him.

I think you will find Harry O had his back to his own goal when Goldsack strolled by Jacobs.

Jamie MacMillan played near on the worst game from a North Melbourne player since I dont know. Our performances for a while now have been that. His kicking is atrocious. His defensive pressure is non existent. But **** me if ever you need to line a ball and kill a contest than in the second quarter on the outer flank he put in one of the worst half hearted efforts that ended in a Collingwood shot on goal. No influence whatsoever. He has no credits and he is out.

Sam Wright better pull the digit out also because we know he can perform. But today was the softest effort from Sammy in a long long time. He is better than that but to not even get a spoil or body on in a few contest really let me down. So so disapointing from Wrighty and I hope he comes in better prepared next week to make ammends.

To Harper and Atley. Forget this week and move on. Potential is a dirty word and your only as good as your last game. Both their last couple of games have been soft as butter shit. Atley seems to be suffering from putting on too much muscle or OP because he has no dash. So much for Harper getting fitter because he didnt get near it till the final quarter. Too much razzle dazzle with these blokes and we saw **** all.
One more week guys. Get your shit together and switch on for the Cats.

The funny thing is the gameplan we played today would work well for the Swans. The issue is god help us all if we execute it the same way.
Spot on with these comments.

I don't think I've seen one person suggest Sierakowski comes in. I'm not his biggest fan but he was emergency and would be a like for like replacement for Jacobs.

I blame the coaches for playing players in roles they arent capable of.
After all our troubles in 2010 and 2011, since when was it fine to put poor kicks on your halfback line?
Not sure re your comment on harry o and jacobs. can you calirify

I also noticed today Atley looked a bit bigger, but slower. Needs to drop a couple. Harper well he just had one of those days that every footballer has had but unfortunately it was in our mini final. He looked spooked at times, but was having a dip. Every year from every club we hear the same pre season BS and what players are set for big years and how all the squibs have improved from every team and every year after round 1 it is pretty much the same blokes like Ablett, Watson, Swallow, Pendlebury, Swan, Selwood, Franklin doing all the damage. If I was a new player to a club like Jacobs or Gysberts I would shut my mouth and get on with business because they all have deficiencies in there game. So what if over summer you have put on 4kgs or if you can run for longer. Until you have showed you can play at the level I don't want to hear from you. It means nothing and I sometimes think coaches make the mistake of over rating new players at clubs and ignoring ones that have been there for longer.

I would also make a few changes. I would want Hansen at CHB to play in front of Wonderboy and chop off some inside 50s going his way. Thompson to play more the Archer role where he supports the spine and comes in off the side, he needs to play on someone like Chapman when he is forward as he is too strong for a mid-size defender. Atley is a waste down back, we need his run and carry in the middle. Wells better be ****ing demanding the ball and stop dishing off to flat footed team mates who are worse kicks than him, he has to demand the ball and take responsibility to go forward and hit targets on the lead.

I'd go with Daw over Black because he can give Goldy a chop out.
Geelong will be undermanned in the ruck as well.

In: Hine, McMahon, Daw
Out: MacMillan, Tarrant, Anthony

Tarrant needs to go back to the VFL and learn to position his body better and use his strength. He is a mountain of a man but what good is it if he gets knocked off the ball so easily. Daw misses marks too but he clunks some rippers also. Not to mention the massive difference at ground level. Daw pressures and makes people feared being tackled. I can't remember seeing tarrant lay a tackle.

We'll respond and we'll win this one!

I think Black is a better option than Daw at this stage. I'd like to see Daw start to dominate some VFL games, I didn't feel he did enough with Werribee given Milky was able to get a lazy 11 goals with the one way traffic heading into the Werribee forward line. I want to see Daw stamp a bit of authority up forward, Black seems the better option to me at this point in time.

If we were playing a side with a two ruckmen then Daw would figure in my options, but Geelong don't have one fit ruckman.

I wouldn't string any of our forwards up on our use of the ball today, give it another week. I think our talls have shown they are capable if they get reasonable supply. If he gets good delivery and fails then that is a different matter.

Said it in another thread, but LA & Gibson will NOT play in a top 4 side together, they do not have the ball use and composure acceptable at that level.

I'd be dropping Macmillan, he definitely needs a rocket up his arse, but Brad has been on his pole since he was picked up so I see it being highly unlikely.

Would like to see Hine given a crack, and I think Majak should definitely play, if any excuse, that performance is it.

Agreed on Gibson and LA, two very similar type players and i think we've only room for one at a time. Thats nothing against either of them, im always happy to have the form one in the team.

I think we'll stick with the same talls setup for round 2. Rather than dropping the forwards, we should be dropping the blokes who continually passed the ball to the opposition inside 50. That said, Lachie had more than his fair share of shocking entries.

I can't see how JMac survives this time. McMahon is an automatic and Hine has demanded a spot and offers exactly what we need at the moment (well, maybe not the skill but definitely pace and strong tackling).

Jacobs pretty much trailed Harry O by 20m. Every time.

Harry O worked back for a 3 on 1 when Tarrant did that stupid deep kick for Thomas to beat 3. Goldsack strolled by Jacobs who was not on his man, not in the contest, not front and square and applied zero defensive pressure.

Similarly Harry O was obviously going to be used in a switch when standing 50m out at HB and again Jacobs took forever to close the gap and apply an arm tackle to be run through.

Obviously you cannot burn a player on one game but watching a guy pointing for others to pick up his man and getting blown up by a seagull like Harry O is not inspiring.

The one change I want to see this week is at training. Constant and repetitive Inside50 passing drills.

I also want to see what Taylor Hine can do, and perhaps move Sam Wright forward.

Agree completely, did nothing at Port, we moved Heaven and Earth getting him to North for some reason, played average in the NAB Cup and then gets gifted a game in round 1 against Collingwood....

If Lindsay goes this game is screwed.

Please mate.

Lindsay was wonderful yesterday, how he wasn't paid the mark and or free kick in the 3rd was an absolutely disgraceful decision. He is a very good footballer on his day, but it was an unnecessary braid fade which will cost him 2 weeks possibly 3.

You lay a shepherd, then the onus of duty of care rests with you.

The game was ****ed a long time ago, now it's just laughable.

Daw would have been good as a sub in those final 10 minutes of the last qtr.

Not good, ****ing perfect would be more apt.
It's poor coaching, Majak lays tackles, chases, has presence and takes unstoppable contested marks.

The upshot is its been a while since we have played poorly and been ultra competitive against a top 4 fancy.
Overall our clearance work was electric, Goldy was back to his best and there were some great signs, we have so much upside it's absurd.

Out: Thomas, Jacobs, MacMillan, Anthony, Gibson
In: Daw, McMahon, Wood, Kennedy, McKenzie

We win it well, now we must find players who can use it.

McMahon - Thompson - Firitto
Wells - Grima - Kennedy
McKenzie - Ziebell - Bastinac
Wood - Petrie - Adams
Hansen - Daw - Harper
Goldstein - Swallow - Atley
Cunnington - Mullet - Tarrant - Wright

Em: Greenwood Hine Black

We don't need our outside players to get it much, but we need them to hit targets.
