Against Adelaide he only had 11 disposals, 63.6% disposal efficiency and 2 tackles. This is backed up by plenty of similar performances across the year. For me, he is currently the weak link in our team forward of the middle. No it's been on show IMO but he doesn't have enough consistency and doesn't get enough possessions. His possessions and running when he gets it are not the problem it's getting it enough.
I agree on that I think he is the weak link but when he sharks the ball like he did before half time against the plastics and then uses his pace to run into an open goal I see the upside. Having said that if you offered me beer after halftime at the plastics ground at the expense of Richards I'm going with the beer!Against Adelaide he only had 11 disposals, 63.6% disposal efficiency and 2 tackles. Just watched the last 2 minutes of 97 Prelim for the first time since seeing it live as it's on the AFL website today. still seems like a horror movie but good to know there are some good crow supporters although I didn't think so on the day!Jumped on your game day threads a bit over the last 6-8 weeks pumping up your squad and rightly so .
All the best for the rest of the season ... a great team to watch which will be contending for the next few years .
Hope you smash the Giants to continue the run deep into September .

There were so many chances. Mark West had a shot from about 40 out with no one on him and missed. Anyway, all was forgotten after 2016Why the fu** didn’t Grant just kick it off the ground ?

Yes but in the wee wee hours it sometimes returns to my nightmares! There were so many chances. Mark West had a shot from about 40 out with no one on him and missed. Anyway, all was forgotten after 2016![]()
My understanding is that for sides in finals, players who played AFL week 23 can’t play VFL finals. All other players can play irrespective of how many VFL games they have played. As an example Trengove could play.Slightly off topic but do West, Young and Trengove all play vfl this week?
Did the rules used to be different if the AFL team is also in finals? My understanding is that for sides in finals, players who played AFL week 23 can’t play VFL finals. All other players can play irrespective of how many VFL games they have played. As an example Trengove could play.
For teams that didn’t make the AFL finals, normal restrictions based on number of games apply.

SEE RULES
(C) A PLAYER WHO HAS PLAYED IN AN AFL HOME AND AWAY MATCH AFTER 1 JULY IN THE RELEVANT SEASON WILL BE INELIGIBLE TO PLAY IN VFL SENIOR GRADE FINALS SERIES MATCHES UNLESS THAT PLAYER HAS PLAYED IN A COMBINED TOTAL OF AT LEAST SIX (6) VFL SENIOR GRADE HOME AND AWAY MATCHES IN THE SAME SEASON.
(D) DESPITE ANY OTHER PROVISION OF THIS RULE 19, BUT SUBJECT TO RULE 19 (E), WHERE A CLUB HAS BOTH ITS AFL AND VFL SENIOR TEAMS ENGAGED ON THE SAME WEEKEND, ANY PLAYER MAY BE SELECTED TO PLAY IN THE VFL SENIOR TEAM SO LONG AS THAT PLAYER HAS PLAYED IN AT LEAST ONE AFL OR VFL SENIOR GRADE HOME AND AWAY MATCH IN THAT RELEVANT SEASON.
Had to get special permission. From next week on, as long as our AFL team is alive, anyone can play vfl finals. Once our afl season finishes, usual vfl games threshold for qualification takes effect. It was only a few years ago Hawthorn played Rioli in the VFL GF to get him fit for the senior side and I don't think he'd played VFL previously that year (and he stunk it up, was in down hill skier mode which helped us win the VFL GF)
What people are missing with Richards is this, once the opposition defenders get the ball our forwards flood back to clog up there forward line except Richards who is given the chasing ping pong role to just put enough pressure on. You won’t pick it up on tv, yet live Bevo has clearly given him this roleAgainst Adelaide he only had 11 disposals, 63.6% disposal efficiency and 2 tackles. This is backed up by plenty of similar performances across the year. For me, he is currently the weak link in our team forward of the middle.
In that role you'd think he'd average more tackles. Only a couple of decimals ahead of Dicko and Lloyd, who are well ahead of him in goals. What people are missing with Richards is this, once the opposition defenders get the ball our forwards flood back to clog up there forward line except Richards who is given the chasing ping pong role to just put enough pressure on. My god! I forgot the Grant/Hudson debacle. That was the winning goal served up on a platter and they totally f&$@ed it up. Hudson should have shepherded Grant and been a voice instead of bloody fighting him for it.Just watched the last 2 minutes of 97 Prelim for the first time since seeing it live as it's on the AFL website today. still seems like a horror movie but good to know there are some good crow supporters although I didn't think so on the day!
