I reckon Shaw in for Truck may be a late change and Martin has been held back as cover for any unforseen late change eg illness

I would rather hold Martin back and not play and give Grigg a full game in the reserves

why would Shaw come in for Rutten barring injury or illness when their will have big power forwards in Patton and Boyd up forward?

people need to pick the right teams to rest Rutten not just Ben has played so many games so he must be rested next game.

Grigg played the best game ever by a Crow sub so not sure why Martin is in front of him.
Or maybe they knew they'd have no need to play the emergency, so they'd rather see Grigg in the SANFL than sit, and Martin is the opposite. If there's someone who's going to not play then Martin is the guy.

I heard what Noble said and to be honest, I don't think he knew what the true story was. His comments were somewhat confused. Its feasible (but a bit odd) that he wasn't in the loop. Brodie Martin was the traveling emergency. Why all of the fitness testing on Grigg Saturday if he was dropped?

I think Noble tripped up.

This is exactly what I thought. He didn't really know.

Maybe, being list manager and only stepping into the box on match day, he isn't a part of selection.

He sounded like he didn't know the reason Martin came in and was merely speculating.

I agree I would rather he play in the sanfl than be emg and not get a game. The issue is why drop him in the first place he was middle of the road stats wise for a player with less than 10 games to his name. Good signs for a youngster. And either he was injured but not by much so could play this week or wasn't and was dropped for leg speed (which we didn't use until 5 mins before the game finished). There were other players, more senior with less output in thoes three weeks that should have been dropped. And beating up on the saints shouldn't excuse all the previous form against teams who may compete.

TSL on the money once again.

Great decision to rest Truck. He, Thommo and Reilly should have a week off here and there throughout the season, especially against bottom clubs.

Called it yesterday, with LT in good nick its a big day for Sammy.

Reilly needs to play because he's still getting back up to speed after missing almost a year of footy. Were that not to be the case then I would agree with you entirely.
