Surprised at the amount of negative Majak sentiment. Thought he's down some good things in light of his lack of continuity at senior level and no preseason.
How many contested marks and crunch shots has Black produced this year?
You are right we do need to know who our best forward combo is, but I fear it is a month too late. Wood should have played a hell of a lot earlier. The calendar has spoken...

Plus Wood in for Black. We need to know now who our best forward combo is.

With Black, he is no doubt badly out of form and deserves the chop, but I get the feeling he is a lock for the remainder of the season.
Lil birdieThey'd ******* want to.
Inside info?
Does anyone have any stat on when Black had those scoring shots? From memory, he had quite a few in junk time when the game was well and truly over. IMO, looking at stats alone doesn't do justice to his output, or lack of.LT kicked 3.1 and 1 goal assist
Black kicked 2.2 and 1 goal assist
Petrie kicked 1.0 and 1 goal assist
Daw kicked 1.1 and 0 goal assist
While Black is out of form and his run-up looks way too short, his output was a lot better than Petrie and Daw, granted that Petrie had to deal with Taylor. I can't see Brad dropping the best performing of the taller forwards.
Would make for a much better spectacle...at least the first half would anyway.Imma go for...
OUT: Mullet, Daw, Adams, Jacobs
IN: Dumont, Wood, Wells, Harper

Wells as sub. The other 3 are all match fit.Would make for a much better spectacle...at least the first half would anyway.
I like the changes. Though they are four players that haven't played AFL/haven't played in a considerable amount of time the four that come out for them aren't exactly marathon runners and an increase in the skill level/possible morale boost the ins would give the team would break even with any potential running ability lost.Wells as sub. Q4: 24:55 Goal
Q4: 18:00 Behind
Q2 19:30 Goal
Q2: 9:20 Behind
All four shots came from marks inside the forward 50, which was Black 4, Daw 2, Petrie, Thomas, Greenwood and Adams 1. Our inability to hit targets inside 50 and our inability to convert more reliably is hurting us on the scoreboard. Not sure entirely if I would blame the key forwards for a lot of the 13 footer passes that sailed way, way, way over the heads of leading forwards.
i hear Brad talk about players not playing as they are not up to AFL defensive pressure. I cannot recall Black laying a tackle or smoother, actually non of our forwards apply pressure apart from Linsday. The ball gets kicked into the forward line, Drew drops it the ball runs straight back out again.
I have no issues with Daws playing .I think peoples expectations are to high for someone who has only played a dozen or so AFL games.
He doesn’t select the team
I do admit he looks lost at times & seems to lack purpose but surely that can be fixed.. I hope in the pre-season they give him the forward line to himself & tell him to attack everything. He has come under criticism from he own team for running to the wrong place & taking Dews space away. He now seems standoffish
Black had 2 tackles, Daw 2, Petrie 2, Thomas 1.
Hansen 1 tackle, Thompson 1, Atley 1, Mullett 1, Firrito 2.
Do you see a bigger problem?
the ball is being run out of our forward line way to easy.... All our players push up to defence then try and bolt back to the forward line, once the balls hits our forwards and its not marked the rebound is way to quick. We need to be able to hold it in this gives our mids and forwards more opportunity to score plus gives the players a quick rest instead of running up and down the field continuously.
McKenzie never had an issue with this : '( with his whole 6 and half games and all..This is a lot harder to do if the midfield hits the opposition defenders on the chest who are 5m behind the leading forward.

*if Harper is good to go, gws would be as good as a game. Harper for Mullet/Wright
