It has to be seniors just so we can mention our underdone players if things go awry.

The 3 highlight reels on the NMFC site of Dumont, Wood, and Harper all look terrific. Our conservative 'don't rock the boat' policy says that selecting all three of them won't happen but if none of them are selected it will be time to sink the boat.

Thanks but don't put me in the Majak bashing league. I have written a lot on the Delist and Maj threads and stand as one of his strongest advocates. I'm a fan of Black too, but by suggesting he has a spell in the 2s, does that mean I'm bashing him too?Agree with all except Brown for Daw.
Brown is underdone and has no preseason. Majak needs some continuity and is a legitimate ruck chopout.
I know it's in vogue to bash Majak right now but he did just as much if not more than Ben in his first games. Ben is one poor rookie game away from joining the same scapegoat list.

Does any one else get aggressive when reading the weekly in the mix?
#14: Trent Dumont
The reason: Dumont turned in a clear best-on-ground performance for North Ballarat on Sunday, collecting 35 disposals and kicking three goals. He also spent time forward, perhaps opening up the possibility of a senior debut in a slightly different role to his normal midfield position.
The challenge: The first-year player was admittedly heavy in the legs after Sunday’s game at Coburg City Oval after a heavy training block. One more strong performance may be needed before he is called up.
#23: Kieran Harper
The reason: Playing off half-back for the first time on Sunday, Harper was impressive. Able to offer Werribee run and carry while also defending well, he was judged as one of the best afield by Gavin Brown.
The challenge: Considering it was a new role for Harper, it’s likely he’ll spend a couple more weeks learning the intricacies of it before being considered for a promotion.
#32: Mason Wood
The reason: Wood was very good again for Werribee against Port Melbourne. Kicking three goals and amassing 21 disposals, the left-footer was a threat both inside the forward 50 and further up the ground.
The challenge: Battling with an illness over the weekend, Wood may not be 100 per cent during the lead-up to the game against the Giants. Considering a senior debut is the prize, it may be better to wait until he can put in a full week of impressive performances on the training track.
Wood?
wasn't mentioned.
I just have a chuckle every week how Nmfc try and make excuses as to why change should be avoided. I mean how many good performances in a row does dumont have to put in?I LOL'd hard at the bolded.

My main viewpoint is that Maj is not in a good state of mind and is playing without confidence, which is hindering rather than helping his development. He has a huge weight on his shoulders at the moment and the intense scrutiny of him, particularly with those in the media and public who are clammering to see him fail, mostly for some pretty disturbing reasons.

No worries. Your point is valid anyway. It is just that our forward line has been such a rabble that Ben's performances have been praised so much. He has potential, I agree, and a great attitude, but is more raw that Maj. I just think that Daw is not in a good place at the moment.Your post prompted me to think about Majak/Ben it wasn't singling you out or attributing that sentiment to you though. Can understand how it read that way.
That's why he doesn't run hard defensively? No worries. Your point is valid anyway. It is just that our forward line has been such a rabble that Ben's performances have been praised so much. He is second-guessing himself with everything he does on the field now. Not sure if that is part of why he doesn't run defensively, but he now lacks the confidence to go on a dash run with ball in hand when he has space or to contest every mark within reach. All I see is a player with his confidence shot to bits at the moment. And the same player still has a multitude of things to work on to become a regular senior footballer. And he will make it too if things work out for him with his court case and he gets a full pre-season.That's why he doesn't run hard defensively?
