Unofficial Preview Changes vs. GWS

A game to hopefully get some guys into some form... They don't have three talls to defend Brown, Black and Petrie...

Team needs to settle before finals, so having three debutants isn't going to help. No doubt Dump t and Wood should've been given a go earlier in the year but too late now. Need a to smash GWS on the weekend, not blood new blokes

Disappointing result and Scott under huge pressure. Hypothetically if we won a couple of finals how would all the haters survive the off season with out having the opportunity at throwing shit at our coach and players??

It would get the heat of Scott for a while.

I should add, the passengers in the side are still ripe for the picking though afaic

I feel like its Brown's game to kick 3 or 4 and Petrie to kick 6.

This would have to be the most repetitive and sarcastic line used.

I love it that people are throwing different opinions and suggestions rather then what the inner sanctum comes up with. It's what comes with a forum. There are plenty to feast at the negative table because the club advertised top 4 intentions. Yet due to constant unasnwered relapses, members find themselves uncertain about weekend results. .let alone top 6.
Have an opinion - but the attack on players and coach is pathetic. We can still finish top 4 as advertised. Would you prefer we aimed for bottom 4 so now we would be over achieving? 12 clubs would have aimed for top 4.

You know what. You probably have something many of us don't have left. Optimism. That's a pretty tough trait to have when the team has performed the way they have over recent weeks. So I actually respect you for that

I just don't think we are in a terrible spot. We can be dangerous in a final and I am looking forward to September. We miss the 8 and I will join the hate but we are a good thing to play finals.

Look at the 12th placed Tigers - things could be a hell of a lot worse than sitting 6th with a good run home.

Hypothetically if Scott selected a side that was in form and capable of actually winning the games we've lost the two final wins you speak of would mean a GF appearance.

Now go on and blurt out your standard crap responses.

More examples needed to be made, not to suddenly make the side invincible overnight, but to send the message that not performing your role is not acceptable.

The passengers might win a match here and there for us, but it that fails to recognise the wider framework of close enough being good enough, 'there will be enough others to fill the void if I don't perform'.

We've carried Adams, Black, Bastinac, Petrie for too long. No, I don't think Dumont will smash Adams out of the park. No, I don't think Wood will double the goal tally of Black. But it might just make these supremely talented players wake up and get the most out of themselves.

Some of these players are crying out for a rocket so bad that if they aren't given one soon, they'll just plateau and remain average or poor for good. If that hasn't happened already.

VFL form? Liam Anthony should be captain off VFL form.

Was tried and failed. Wright was in form. Tried and succeeded-team boosted. McMahon was tried and failed. Currie tried and failed. Nahas tried and succeeded-team boosted. There are benefits of change, and there are players who shouldnt be in the side, and dropping them would benefit the team and win these finals that we all want to! We arent cutting players to hurt their feelings, were doing so to ensure the team has the best chance of winning.

Do you think the players you named don't know they need to lift and doing everything they can? They have a better handle on their own performance than us. Some have survived due to injuries and others not being ready. Sending them back is not a sure thing to suddenly turn their form around - and their replacements could offer even less.

What if those passengers won the game for us and through Scott persisting with them was the difference?

They have responded time and again, the problem is they have also reverted to passengers time and again, thus the inconsistency.

We need a much smaller margin between the good and the bad.

100% agree - but team cohesiveness can also help reduce the margin between good and bad. Our game plan had to change to be more defensive. The slow ball movement had hurt every one of our forwards - they will all kick a lot less goals than in 2013. I will take less goals and 6th over more goals and 10th.

Do you read anything, or simply reword your own basic post multiple times?

We could win the Grand Final and it would still be a struggle to convince me that further changes shouldn't be made this week, or in fact in earlier weeks.

Armchair expert.

Yes, but this is a performance based industry, you have to pull out more decent games than say Adams has to date this season, or last season.

Black had 4 shots at goal last week. If 2.2 was 3.1 or 4 straight would you still be asking that question?

I agree, our forwards have been torched the last couple of games. Would have been nice if Dumont was included.

"Nathan Grima has edged closer to a return, named as an emergency with Mullett and Mason Wood also on standby."
any chance for a late change i.e. In Wood Out ?????.

Saw that and thought there's a chance Grima comes in late for someone who is struggling (maybe Thommo). Surely if he's fit he's best 22, otherwise he needs more time in the VFL rather than being an emergency.
