Disappointing result and Scott under huge pressure. Hypothetically if we won a couple of finals how would all the haters survive the off season with out having the opportunity at throwing shit at our coach and players??

You really believe any of us North supporters on this board are hoping we lose any match?? I respect your outlook but don't correlate being critical as hoping we lose to prove a point. I hope Scott shoves it down my throat and wins us a flag, I just don't think he has it in him.

I agree, our forwards have been torched the last couple of games. Would have been nice if Dumont was included.
When I read the In The Mix piece by the club I could see Dumont wasn't going to be picked..."heavy legs" and all of that. The thing that has me confused is why they saw the need to put heavy training loads into him in the past month. It's almost like they are preparing him to be cherry ripe for September, but he hasn't even played a game. And the flu/virus thingy Wood has supposedly had seems to be a factor too. I still hope both will debut in the coming weeks but can imagine a relatively comfortable win against the Giants, the "can't drop anyone after a solid win" scenario, before the next debacle either against the Bullies or Crows. I have given up holding my breath for Wood's debut and with Wells and McMillan coming back, Dumont's opportunities might shrink too.

My word there are posters wanting us to miss the 8 in the hope of getting rid of Scott.
I don't think Adams should be playing this week - or had the run he has had. But I still think the coaches have a better idea of who should be playing that anyone on big footy. We have no no idea what happens at the club during the week. Swallow, Harvey and co would all be discussing players with the coaches. It is not just Scott walking into match selection and making a decision that goes against everyone else at the club.

I'm actually very happy with the changes. Sure Patch has been poor but Mullett and Daw were far worse. Besides Adams will likely be sub again and he's decent in that role

People just need to realise/accept Black is not going to be dropped this year. He is obviously a) playing injured and b) benefited from a lack of replacement options. There is no way we are going into the finals with someone with <5 games as our number 2 forward.

Good to see Brown back for Daw and as mentioned on the other thread, Tiny Turner's selection should be a wake up call to the whole list.

The one player I would have been happy to see dropped (as was rumoured earlier in this thread) is Dal Santo. It would have only been a 1 game, for the sake of making a statement decision but that attempted toe poke in the goal square last week had me tearing my hair out

Black was never going to get dropped after last weeks effort given he has put in some absolute shockers throughout the the year and not been dropped. It must be a little disheartening for players like Wood and Dumont to be continually overlooked after strong performances in the VFL, given there are players in the senior team stinking it up on a weekly basis. Confusing!

I reckon Wood will get a late call up. Just a feeling..

The team at this point of time needs to settle ready for the lead in to the finals.

I'm astounded he wasn't in for Black. I've only seen highlights videos of Wood though so perhaps he isn't as good as I'm thinking.

Again, name one poster who has said they hope we miss the 8 so Scott gets the boot?

These are the same coaches who played Lindsay Thomas when it was patently obvious to all in the known universe that he couldn't kick for goal to save himself or anyone else.

A game to hopefully get some guys into some form... They don't have three talls to defend Brown, Black and Petrie...

Team needs to settle before finals, so having three debutants isn't going to help. No doubt Dump t and Wood should've been given a go earlier in the year but too late now. Need a to smash GWS on the weekend, not blood new blokes

I don't buy that. Why is it too late for Dumont or Wood to get a game? The players they'd be replacing (Adams et al) add nothing to the team, so it's not a risk trying someone else, it's just common sense. But yeah, Adams will magically come good in the next few weeks, and we wouldn't want to unsettle the team by dropping someone who's been playing poorly...

Give me a spell. Adams and Black > Dal Santo?!

Well it was good they backed him in and gave him the confidence to turn it around.
the turn around was his dropping, regaining confidence by belting vfl spuds and coming back stronger than ever. Dont shy away from this fact. There are players who desperately need the same treatment, and getting them in form against duds would strengthen our september stocks two-fold.

If Wood does have a flu/virus then he shouldn't play, particularly in a debut. Aside from that, Brown and Wood in the same forward line come finals could be disasterous. At least against GWS it is a good chance for Black to potentially play his way into a bit of form. Same can be said about Dumont in regards to his "heavy legs." All reports say he's been doing a mountain of work lately, and if he's not 100% then he won't be able to run out the game. Be patient, they just aren't right this week.

not alone there Jay-Z, maybe green vest is enough of a kick in the arse?

4 games to go. But Realistically we are making up the numbers aren't we.
Top 4 is gone.
There'll be no fairy tale from 6th. The night we lost to Carlton was the end of our year.
No one takes this team seriously. They don't have it in them to become a contender.
I think the frustration of throwing away another year is creeping in.

I think it goes back to the Brisbane game that stamped 'END OF YEAR' on our season. They managed to get motivated for the Hawthorn game but then lulled back into their normal routine. The playing group isnt good enough, the coaching staff arnt good enough and the development is appalling. Another year down the drain would be an honest appraisal imo

calm down archer
we have beat the Top 5 teams excepting the cats, won interstate
are sitting at top 6 and haven't had a CHB Centre or CHF all year virtually

your relentless bagging is starting to really get on my, and I wld think most genuine supporters nerves
can u just stick a cork in it for a bit

Dont worry reg, im sure we'll be holding up the cup soon.

Must be nice to look upon only success and dismiss any failures along the way. I think they call that 'head up ass syndrome' or the like. I wouldnt think i relentlessly bag, but of course i cant speak for others. I just tell it how i see it. It isnt a catastrophe, but it sure as shit isnt gold plated either.

We have a lot of passengers, a coach who game plans but doesnt deviate when said plan is failing, injuries galore, a front office that hands out contracts like lollies and a team that isnt hitting its straps at the business end. Obviously nothing to panic over yet, but is success on the horizon?

A week ago i brought another 2 memberships(1x13 game/1x junior joey) and more merch' to help push us over the 40k mark and i live in Perth. My commitment is there, where is the football departments? Will Brad implement his upteenth game plan in as many years in the coming off season? Will we draft/recruit the required players needed or keep with the same philosophy of slow, plodding inside mids by the bucketful? With a full list to choose from, will Brads golden boys be still gifted games? Who will be the midfield coach to get the most from our highly rated, high draft pick mids? Should we employ a better strength & conditioning coach? Are we really subjecting players to an elite sports program or filling their heads with non football related garbage that throws instincts out the window? Why are our 100+ gamers stalling in mediocrity? Will James Brayshaw one day beat Punter in a game of golf?

There are lots of questions to be asked reg, but no real sign of any answers.

Here is a list of positives for 2014 imo:

Greenwood
Boomer
Brown
Kayne
Beating 5 teams out of the top 11, 4 of those in the top 5
Away wins have been great
Cunningtons 1st half
Spitter coming back from injury
LT having another stellar year
Hansen
McDonald exceeding my expectations ten fold
Nahas
Spud
Atley
Dal Santo

Bound to have missed a few, but could write a list of negatives twice as long i reckon.

Cheers.

2 fold? Drop them all and then we would improve our September stocks 44 fold. With that much improvement we will soon be folding a new flag. Genius.

Disgusting post.

No matter how out of form our players are they are never filth.
