Hartigan should come back in.
Giants have too many talls in that forward line; Himmelberg, Cameron and Finlayson... big bodies matter.
I do expect Gibbs to be a tagger, it's the only role left for him because he's severely under performing elsewhere.
Watching the replay I'm sure Atkins will retain his spot on his ability to find the ball but he needs a rocket up his a**e for his physicality.
Our forward line is at best functioning but it just doesn't look potent, we need to find multiple goal kickers.
B Crouch kicked 3 goals on Saturday but we can't rely on our mid fielders to suddenly pick up the slack.

From the reserves form line I would consider Stengle, McHenry,Butts Poholke , Jones, Wilson and Fog but I have no idea which way they go selection wise. There are plenty of options.
Jacobs was good but one game back after so long out is not a what I would like to see.

Well there you go, Jones definetly battles at AFL level but its only his first year at it so not the end of the world just needs that seior footy big bodies to develop him

And if Ned is behind him, Ned may have to wait
Reckon Ned will be closer to playing 10 plus games next year, may get a few games this year, but if we are pushing for top 8, He in the selector's eyes he's behind a few for that Outside Mid/Half Forward role.
While Jones reminds me of Milera, and I believe will progress at similar rates,

The next three games may determine how much of a go they will get this year

Yes lose all 3 and we play them both, win 2 and we play the best 22 on a week to week.
But we are seeing the changing of the guard slowly creeping in this year,
Not fast enough for me. Knarling Ned should have played against Brisbane and ran with Neale.
In all he lost near a month of football

No he not a proven run with player, and there a couple of others I would play before him.
How can he be proven ?
He needs development opportunity and in my mind is not only an endurance beast but has a butt desire for a contest
All part of it

Who would have been your run with in that game ?

Was told by a very reliable source today that a big ruckman is absolutely filthy he wasn't straight back into the seniors for Saturday night.

Will play AFL this week.

Would have been stupid to bring him straight back in as would have been very underdone.

Also, shouldn't come back in after just 1 game this week either.

Agree on both counts.
Make Sauce earn his return with solid sanfl form that demands selection. It's a healthier selection policy than the gold card.

The sense of entitlement of our senior players is beyond me and highlights we’ve got issues.

We need a Blight clean out.

Douglas has said the right stuff though and said he’d be playing sanfl when he came back.

14 weeks in a row of good SANFL performances should do it. Continuity and all that jazz.

I said the front of packs.

I think he spends a lot of time jumping for marks or waiting out the back. That he is excellent on the ground doesn't mean he plays a traditional crumber role at the front of packs. We've obviously lacked that.

Of course, that's much more an issue with Murphy than him.

If Gibbs does not play this week the rumour I have heard about him is all but confirmed.

He was pretty good un the run with role in Oliver and GWS have a few mids that could do with the same treatment.

We need him this week IMO.

What are you talking about ?

All comes down to fitness so its hard to pick until we know who is available

Harto after being replaced by mackay in if fit, Crouch in Depending on fitness

Sloane out if unfit

Murphy out omitted

That would be it, Douglas, Sauce and Pohlkoke if continue with form will be pushing for selection, but no doubt injures will come into play and ROBs lack of ability at the top line

I can understand where the Murphy droppers are coming from, but maybe they are only stats watchers. I watched a replay of the Melbourne game and what was noticeable about Murphy was his closing speed, aggression, and excellent value from all of his involvements, especially scoring chains, whether he logged a statistic, or not. It was an eye-opener to me, and I would not drop him. I expect that the Club knows all of this better than me. He is small, and with a limited-range kick, but he provides very good value. If he ever ups his stats, .........!
