For all of the talk about our depth and high performing SANFL players, we are terrified of playing youth.

McHenry, Jones, Wilson; guys have been dominating SANFL, or showing enough to display their talent; but we bring Mackay and now bloody Douglas in, when they've both been shit, non-entities for years.

The way I see it with Greenwood is the game last week was incredibly taxing and he isn't a very aerobic beast. Brouch said on radio he lost around 4 kgs..... that's huge.

Ratkins quoted in the paper as saying he lost 6 during the game... went from 86kg prior to 80kg post

Ummm Knight isn't in the team, ROB has earned his spot. Sauce can come in when he lights up the SANFL with a hard working, hard running game in the ruck.

Douglas showed at the start of the season that he's completely lost all the speed he did have and now his brain fades are even more prominent. Greenwood would be faster than him, is taller, better overhead, better in close and a better tackler. It makes no sense.

Ok. Greenwood being dropped - harsh, but fair, we are one inside midfielder too heavy with the addition of Crouch, and CEY has been performing.
Mackay being "dropped" - "yay"
Gibbs being dropped - I don't get this one. Played well, and as much as I'm all for a rebuild, those aren't rebuild ins. If something is wrong in his life, don't ****ing select him every second week.

Hartigan in - I get the rationale here, and we were scored rather easily on by Melbourne, and having a second shutdown defender will free Keath up.
Douglas in - Sheesh. He is cooked beyond all belief. Utterly atrocious selection, especially when there was an opportunity to play someone who needs the game time more (i.e. Jones/McHenry).

What is really good though is we weren't completely stupid and didn't select Jacobs.

Thought same ; something going on behind closed doors. Am VERY surprised. Was hoping they'd use Gibbs as a tagger again.
Selection means recovered-Douglas is ahead of in-form-McHenry. Shades of Gold Pass?
Hartigan for Mackay makes sense, adds some muscle. Greenwood is probably backup for Sloane (dicey --- hammy tweak would rule him out I reckon, Crows are foxing).

Wilson isn't the answer. He's a good kick, but he's not going to be an AFL player, at least not in the midfield we have where we've already got slow mids who are all better than him.

They've backed in Jones plenty too, he's mostly struggled, he needs confidence so I don't see the issue playing him for a few weeks in the SANFL either.

I wouldn't go that far. Selecting someone like Douglas indicates that there isn't a plan whatsoever.
