How often has Dylan been given a chance to show his midfield wares when played in the AFL?In the sanfl
Have you watched him play afl?

Gibbs has personal issues? Didn't show it in the 1st half of last year.....has it just occurred?Last year was a ******* disaster.
I'm pretty sure I was indifferent to the trade - happy for the AFC to show some balls and roll the dice, but not desperate for it...
Would've had a different opinion if it was known that Gibbs had personal issues that would negatively impact his performance.
Well yes that’s a better option than Douglas.

You completely missed the point. So the three under injury clouds just happen to be the ones that if they came out, the 3 dropped for team balance would come in? ....Yeah right
I think Dougie gets a couple of games to prove himself this year before we put a line through him
Interesting. Because immediately after watching us play melbourne i didn't think we'd be any chance to win this week. As my memory has faded my hope has risenThe longer the week goes, the more likely I think we are to lose.
Ben hart says hiFFS Why not play Greenwood solely as a deep Full Forward? Not much of tank needed, if he parked himself there, takes 3 marks, kicks 3 goals and provides defensive pressure I50. Thats a massive win. Im just stunned the selectors dont see this.
I lost my sht1t last week when we would go deep to Murphy for a one on one contest.
Meanwhile Eddie still wants a car for mark of the year.
Our forward structure makes no sense whatsoever. Its absolutely flawed. It can work against crap teams, but we get truly exposed and cared up against quality opposition.
I'm still not getting why this means why we have dropped Gibbs to the SANFL though. It's not an easy position to be in. I'm sure Gibbs told everyone all the right things, but addictions are pricks of a thing. You can get them under control, maybe he did have it under control and just like that you can slip and you're back in it.
I don't get the decision making behind backing in Jones earlier but now selecting Douglas.
Are we developing youth or selecting senior players in a desperate attempt to make finals?
The flip flop is just strange
YesWould Jones have played if not for injury?
Hehe, well i hope i get shocked then.Good to see you being your usual optimistic best.
More likely Gibbs I would have thought as Douglas has replaced Greenwood.Sloane hasnt passed a fitness test yet greenwood likely replacement if that fails

If you are resting Greenwood due to 5 fzy break to Richmond game, why Douglas? Sacrificial lamb? Nah, he is probably going to stay in the side for the rest of the year. Keen to see him take out a team mate and fumble constantly.
Don't forget the slip and slide.
Valuable games into a 32 year old flanker.
Spot on! Dougy is finishedIf that is the reason, Poholke is better.

None of us are close enough to the situation to know for sure, but if they don't have plans for him to tag again, as is Campo's usual MO, then maybe Gibbs game wasn't rated that highly given his not great first half when he wasn't tagging.I'm still not getting why this means why we have dropped Gibbs to the SANFL though.
He played ok last week, including tagging their most dangerous player last week... so mentally ok to play football.
If he needed a break, why is he playing SANFL? Wouldn't we give him a complete break?
I don't get it...
Maybe, but Poholke is in his third year now on the list, he should be playing seniors more often by now. It's not like we've been going that well the past 1 1/2 seasons...Youre ruthless for such a young player, Mac Adam was still munching six pies a day at his age
I can only think Greenwood is struggling with his fitness, so we plan to give him a light run in the sanfl to freshen him up for the next game, which is a short turnaround. It is and these selections show it
I agree Greenwood has been down a little , I also agree his fitness base is terrible for a midfielder
But
Its a sad state of affairs if Dougy and speed are mentioned together. Great servant , great clubman but if Douglas is replacing Greenwood in the midfield then we are cooked
Dropping Greenwood in isolation is ok. Its , if it happens, the use of Douglas as his midfield replacement. Or is it Crouch?
Douglas played well in SANFL so reward effort, but he should be considered a small forward and occassional mid. So my thinking is Murphy should have gone for Douglas.
And to explain the BUT above. Greenwood can also play a forward role in place of Murphy. Taller, contested mark and can play limited minutes in the centre.
So in that sense I dont understand the thinking.
So we go in having no one to tag Cogs or Kelly if they get of the chain. We didn't even bring in Knight as that option.None of us are close enough to the situation to know for sure, but if they don't have plans for him to tag again, as is Campo's usual MO, then maybe Gibbs game wasn't rated that highly given his not great first half when he wasn't tagging.
Also i'd guess that the level of stress playing AFL compared to playing SANFL would be hugely different. Our SANFL side is likely to win, regardless of how well Gibbs performs, so there's probably zero pressure on him in that environment. AFL is a different beast.
Nothing stupid about dropping Gibbs on that low effort 13 possession 3 contested performance. Pleased the selectors see it the same way.You drop JJ & leave in Tex. Which player was more dangerous!
We would be stupid to drop Gibbs who can cover one of their dangerous mids (probably Cogs) & play both Sloane & Mrouch, under injury clouds.
We should just be like Richmond and embrace players who have links to the underworld.Makes people unhappy when you dont pay your debts.

Taylor Walker looks very sheepish after reading this.I thought a forward was meant to kick goals. If Murphy is in the team for pressure he doesn't do that either. As far as I can see he runs around expending energy not influencing the game and not kicking goals which is a forwards main role.
