It's hard to know what to do at selection as there are so many players who are inconsistent and no youngsters banging down the door demanding to be selected.

Out: Sloane
In: Jones (It will be Douglas)

Crows mantra.

When in doubt, keep Mackay in.

We have plenty of players banging the door down. Wilson has done now for almost 2 seasons. Poholke having a great season this year. Then in defence young guys like Sholl, Hamil and Butts are all playing well. McHenry and Jones as well. Then we have Stengle. And of course older players like Douglas, Jacobs and Otten. We have so many options that we dont want to try them.

Agree. Don't think Poholke is up to it at this stage and I don't want to see Douglas and Jacob's in the team again but plenty of in form options in the sanfl.

Have to agree with everyone on Atkins back. Looked horrible out there. Fumbling, not contesting, easily pushed off the ball. His head just wasn’t in it.

Atkins gets a positive weighting of 20% on top of his actual performance because Pyke loves having a left footer on the wing (what he was doing ok the right wing in the last quarter v Melbourne I have no idea).

Rat will be on that wing until a lefty like Hamill hammers down the door.

(we have introduced a lot of lefties into the side in the last few years. I swear we had zero at one point before M.Crouch but him, Kelly, Keath, Atkins, Greenwood and Murphy is a nice set - hopefully we can add Taheny come November)

The problem is a lot of those lefties are terrible kicks though.

Titus writeup

Melbourne (88) v Adelaide (90)

What's being a Melbourne fan like? Well, imagine the love of your life breaking up with you every weekend but in new and unusual ways each time.

The Demons started the game well enough, doing something new, actually converting their inside 50 chances. There were even kicks going straight to their own forwards.

It saw Melbourne leap ahead and look like they were on the way to a big win.

Adelaide it has to be said were bad. Embarrassingly bad at times, and as the Demons shot ahead to a 31-point lead in the third quarter, there was no way the Crows, playing as they were, could come back.

Especially with Rory Sloane off the ground with a hamstring injury from the second quarter.

But like Houdini, just when you think there’s no way they can escape the inevitable, the real Melbourne showed up. Sure, the Crows lifted in the third, but it was Melbourne’s stunning ineptitude that lost them this game.

With the Crows closing in the, Melbourne had nine scoring shots in the last quarter, managing just one goal. 1.8, I mean seriously, this is meant to be a professional team, and the game was on the line.

It was like each Melbourne player was taking turns to display how they could play a starring role in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Jeff Garlett dropped an easy chest mark on the goal line, Max Gawn, Nathan Jones, Tim Smith and James Harmes all missed good chances, only for Jayden Hunt to show them all up and kicked one out on the full.

Add to that, Melbourne’s defence decided to make Tom Lynch look like Wayne Carey at his peak.

When Sam Weideman missed a set shot in the dying moments, it made it easy to focus on him, but he was simply building on the work of many of his teammates, who for some reason decided Melbourne fans have not suffered enough.

I don't think Andy will play
I was thinking about Otten yesterday..

I’d rather him than Hartigan to be honest.. hes slower but atleast he makes good decisions, doesnt panic under pressure and CAN KICK..

But i think Otten will be left in the SANFL... and geez hes been good there this year.. a general in defense that has really pulled all the youngsters down there like scholl, hamill and butts into a tight knit group that is really performing.

He’ll probably be delisted/retired at the seasons end but hopefully he can hang around the club in a coaching type role and maybe even continue to play in the SANFL side like Wright is as a mentor/player..

Hes a valuable asset.

G’day guys sorry if it’s been already posted.
Surely ROB will stay in the team ahead of Sam Jocobs.
He had more hit outs than Gawn surely the number 1 ruck spot is his until his form tapers off.
Thought he has developed nicely for you guys in Sauces abscence
Yeah ROB is the best option we have until Grundy comes in 2021. :) I hope.

Keath is the best kick out of that bunch other than Atkins who can hit a pass when not dancing around players sidestepping and getting caught with the ball. Hamill looks to have promise. Haven't really focused on his kicking but it seems ok.

If M Crouch can't come in I would go Poholke ahead of Wilson and Jones.

You need to reward form and Jones has had a fair few go's at it this year and is a long way off needs more development against senior players and big bodies the SANFL will do that

Based on what we have seen from Jones it may affect the selectors picking Ned

I wouldn't be against that. Put Poholke in and play him in the guts. Though, I'd be tempted to go a tad more outside selection wise and let CEY do the vast majority of the inside work.

Here is my take on selection.

I think any player that has issues or is not 100% will not play. Mrouch wont play. Sloane is definitely out.

We have just a 5 day turnaround v Tigers. We will be sitting ducks and lose both against the Giants and Tigers here if our preparation and selection is off.

Not sure if SANFL is on Sunday or not, but you can lock in players to be rested from that game this weekend as well.
SANFL game 2.40 SAT against West

MCrouch should be good to go otherwise a midfield of BCrouch, Greenwood, Cey, Milera, Gallucci, Gibbs will do the trick. Could also run a Jones or McHenry in there for a bit of experience.

Jones was also better than McHenry in the SANFL Against North.

Yeah, I'd be thinking Jones for that one. Run one of Jones or Gallucci in the midfield at all times just so there is some explosiveness in the midfield.
